I have installed a wall mount B&Q air conditioner. It has been in for around 1 1/2 years. recently I have noticed that when it is in heating mode the air con unit will cut out after a short while (10 mins aprox), and will not restart. you have to manualy turn the unit off and on again...

    Inset Bath

I have been sent with the invoice BASIC guide to installation only. The purpose of this thread is to find out if anyone has fitted a similar bath or has any helpful advice. (Thanks go out to JPC for his post). I would imagine that the frame to support the bath would need to be rigid as so...

    Boiler Ignites with Bang

I wouldent like ot comment on the gas, but I did have a similer problem at my old house. The boiler would run ok for a time, and then for a short period the boiler would start banging (quite nasty). It turned out that the circulation pump was intermittently stalling, hence the water in the...

    Timber worktop in bathroom

I am proposing to fit an inset wash basin in the bathroom. The basin is ceramic, and will sit in / on the worktop like a standard kitchen sink. Now, the worktop I plan to use will be a large 600x600x18mm peice of pine timberboard stained, varnished & sealed. For extra strength I plan to...

    Chimney vent

I would agree. A disused chimney flue will need ventillation so that moisture can escape, and not condense on the flue walls. As the previous poster said, you ccould buy a capping cowl. Or, you can remove the chimney pot & using a peice of upside down half round gutter / cast half round...

    Chimney problem

If the chimney has been cleaned properley, then it is safe to assume that there is no blockage. Now you say you live in a tenement on the top floors (I guess you mean flats??). How old are these flats, as chimney construction has varied over the years. Ie: is it a traditional stone chimney...

    Inset sink fitting.

So, I am right in saying that once the hole has been cut in the worktop, that a ring of good quality silicon is ran round the perimiter, so when the basin is offered up to the worktop that the silicone glues & seals the channel on the underside of the basin to the worktop ???

    Inset sink fitting.

Have just purchased a new ceramic basin for the bathroom, which is designed to sit on/in a worktop (like a kitchen sink). There are no clips or attachments to secure the basin to the underside of the worktop (as you would find on a standard kitchen sink). Now, how would I go about fixing the...
