Nest wiring to a Flexicom 30cx boiler

Hi Stem, thanks for your note. No, the small black line is not a physical link in the Heat link - it is just me 'completing the circuit' on the diagram for my own understanding for when heat is on! In the cable that runs to the Heat Link, the installer has used the earth wire to act as the...

Nest wiring to a Flexicom 30cx boiler

If we go to a single channel Hive receiver - and based on existing Nest wiring that is in place (as per my wiring diagram) - would I be correct in saying that a small piece of wire would be required to 'link' permanent live on the receiver to slot 1 (common) and the existing earth wire (acting a...

Nest wiring to a Flexicom 30cx boiler

Yes, when the button in the middle of the receiver/heat link is pressed, the boiler (heating) does come on. Having got this far, my son & his partner (and me for that matter!) are really struggling to get our heads round the Nest learning thermostat. I have watched a load of YouTube postings and...

Nest wiring to a Flexicom 30cx boiler

Ian, thanks for your note. I believe I have drawn the set up correctly - from visual inspection of back plate of fused switch and Nest. It does work in practise. Have you had a look at my attached pdf file?

Nest wiring to a Flexicom 30cx boiler

I would add that I haven't physically checked the connections within the boiler but, looking at the wiring diagram for 230v thermostats in the Flexicom manual, I am assuming that is how it will be..

Nest wiring to a Flexicom 30cx boiler

I have just had a chance to have a good look at the way the fused switch has been wired - see attached pdf file. Basically it is 2 core + Earth from switch to Nest and 3 core + Earth from switch to boiler. It is only set up to control Heating, not Hot water. I would welcome any comments.. thank you

Glow Worm Flexicom 30cx and Hive

Hi, looking to swap out a Nest Heat Link and associated plug-in thermostat for a Hive single-channel receiver and wireless thermostat. Main reason is that I simply cannot get my head round how to successfully operate the Nest thermostat/controller!! All I want to do do is set a daily schedule of...

Nest wiring to a Flexicom 30cx boiler

Must admit I haven't looked at the wiring behind the cover of the fused switch. Maybe it will become clear/obvious when I do. So as to be electrically safe, I guess it would be wise to disconnect incoming power to the fused switch at the consumer unit..yes?

Nest wiring to a Flexicom 30cx boiler

My son has just moved into a property where there a Glowworm Flexicom 30cx combi boiler is in place. It has been wired to a Nest heat link with the thermostat being the round, (plug-in via USB cable) unit. I am pretty savvy when it comes to wiring of these as I have recently installed a Hive...

    Flexicom 30cx

Hi, my son and his partner have just moved into a property where a Glowworm Flexicom 30cx is currently installed. They've already had an instance of the F.22 (low pressure) fault code and indeed the underlying pressure is showing as just 0.5 bar. I pressed the reset button and it seemed to bring...

    Honeywell st9100c (replacing with Hive)

Everything seems to be up and running. I've noticed straight away, however, that the time displayed in the top left of the thermostat is not right. Is it possible to manual alter? Be aware that I don't have a hub, just receiver and wireless stat.

    Honeywell st9100c (replacing with Hive)

Finally...success!! Just decided to take the front cover off the receiver and carefully re-fit it to the back-plate, switched power on and after a few seconds got the amber flashing light. I guess I now need to get it paired up with the thermostat. Is that pretty straightforward?

    Honeywell st9100c (replacing with Hive)

I don't have any controls; the original set up was just the Honeywell BDR receiver and the wireless thermostat. The boiler is coming on fine so it would suggest that the L and N coming from my fused switch - via Hive receiver - to boiler are sound. So why, I wonder, is the Hive receiver...

    Honeywell st9100c (replacing with Hive)

Hi stem, Just read your reply to me, thank you. As I mentioned in my first post, I have done exactly as you specify in the first example (i.e. where 4 wires were originally used), but nothing is happening. When I power back up, the status light on the receiver should flash amber, but I am...

    Honeywell st9100c (replacing with Hive)

F.A.O. Stem Hi there, I have read with interest the guidance you have given on changing to a Hive unit from Honeywell. I am in a similar position, but a CM927 unit. Trying to do the installation of a single channel Hive receiver to connect to my Worcester Greenstar 30Cdi combi and 'talk' to the...
