Got it sorted, called a plumber and he talked through how to best to remove the nut on the diverter manifold and try replacing the push rods inside the manifold. I could not previously remove that nut. I put in a new rod with some grease and it did the trick... woohoo!!

I did turn off the boiler yes when I drained the system. There is no other reset option in the manual other than turning the dial to R (installation & servicing manual). Thank you
