Assistance in choosing Main Consumer Unit

Some electricians might do that but they should still test the installation upon completion? An earth leakage fault is near impossible to find sometimes. Thats the problem with RCD's RCBO's etc.. I latterly worked on commercial washers and dryers (amongst other larger machines in the catering...

2 gang light switch mate, simple like for like. The red is your COM the live feed in, the jumper is the distribution of the mains in to the other switch, the blue and yellow are the out path and go to the actual light itself ;) In this drawing your reds go into the COM (or C) and your yellow...

Assistance in choosing Main Consumer Unit

So looking at that, you have a 3 bed house with one ring main and I am assuming a shower. You cook by gas? Sorry mate but it sounds like you actually need a rewire or the sockets rectified pronto. I would say a DB is the very least of your problems.

Ideal Esprit HE24 boiler - no hot water

I say no hot water but ...... OK start from the beginning. (Spark to trade ... I know, I know) Was working fine until 16 months ago and we noticed we wouldnt get hot water unless the pre heat was on. If that was on, we would get hot water as normal. This became slowly less reliable until a few...

    Pyronix delta to Texecom

Popular probably because Pyronix have been around so long and there is a loyalty towards them? Also reliable. With the Pyronix on my wall and a Odyssey on my next door neighbour, night and day. No competition, the Pyronix is brighter and looks better ;)

I just installed 3 x mains linked smokes, wish I had waited now and got ones for the alarm! I wasn't to know the alarm was going to pack up though ;) Neighbour...

    Pyronix delta to Texecom

Well the connections for the bell box were correct, suspected they would be and system in and working. Thanks for the assistance. Next door had the texecom installed by a local company and used the texecom box, dislike the black edge around it. Having said that my Pyronix Delta was up before...

Couldn't get EICR due to no RCD Protection

No that is absolutely rubbish. That would mean half the property in the Uk (maybe more) is no longer safe? Nonsense. It wouldn't be a fail but a recommendation, or at least it was when I used to do these 15 years ago and as far as I am led to believe in the 17th nothing has changed.

    Pyronix delta to Texecom

Because it is already on the wall and nothing wrong with it? Perhaps a new box in 5 years. As already stated, the problem was the suppliers never included the install manual! I did wonder at the time right enough!

    Beko Tumble Dryer not Drying

Yes but he says there is power when the machine is open. So that being the case it cant be faulty, unless as I say when he closes it up something moves? A broken cable perhaps. Not uncommon. But not as common on domestic machines. If it is that the parts are cheap as chips ;)

    Pyronix delta to Texecom

never thought of that mate! Found it, explains it all and no further assistance required :) My box was missing that, I will be having a word with the supplier I used! I wondered about it when it arrived as the seal was broken on the box but was told it was to add in the communicator into the...

    Beko Tumble Dryer not Drying

The cut out, if operating correctly should be closed and full continuity flowing. When it pops it creates an open circuit to prevent current flowing. You state that you depressed the cutout, this is normally a bimetallic strip with the conductors on either side. Some can be reset others cannot...

    Pyronix delta to Texecom

    Beko Tumble Dryer not Drying

Thats why I asked if there was voltage at the element? If there is voltage there at the time it has to work or the element is at fault? But I am assuming you check the element before and it is working, however, when you put it back together and let it go through its cycle it is not. So that...

How to wire a 2 way outdoor switch?

Not really understanding what you are trying to do here? on/off switch which is a 2 way option but not being wired 2 way? You wanting to do this?

    Beko Tumble Dryer not Drying

Put it onto a drying cycle and check the voltage over the incoming supply to the elements. If you have no supply coming in it may be the control panel, not sure how this machine switches power but could be that as well, damaged cable etc..
