Texecom Cloud Subscription - What is it?

Ah, I took gamble at £15 a year. It does essentially give you a web version of Wintex. Integrates with Ricohet too, which is cool to be fair. Looks like you can do health checks, and schedule them and stuff so I guess you can get engineer alerts and stuff.

Texecom Cloud Subscription - What is it?

I have a Texecom Premier Elite 24 which I DIY installed about 8 years ago. A few years back I upgraded from the old ethernet module and fitted a SmartCom and signed up for a Texecom Cloud account etc as I wanted to use the app to check on the alarm , make sure it was armed, etc. I'm just a...

    Concrete using Type 1 MOT

Yeah, that's basically it. I did consider just leaving it as MOT, but I think it would irritate me and my storage racks wouldn't sit very well

    Concrete using Type 1 MOT

Hi All, I've gotta make good an area at the back of my garage. It's only going to have storage type units on it, no cars or anything. And if I ever get around to knocking down the thing, it'll have to come up anyway. But it's about 1/3 of a cube, so a good few mixer loads and a good few bags of...

Cheers @kingandy2nd ! I've been keeping an eye on your threads, too, I see you've been busy

    Patio & Dwarf Wall Greenhouse

It finally arrived! To be clear, the Greenhouse is "off the shelf", from these guys: https://www.clearviewgardenbuildings.co.uk/wiltshire-timber-greenhouse/ They came today, and popped the frame on top of my wall. No dramas, they took the mick about me being worried about not being quite...

Garden Room Base - on top of existing paving or new concrete base?

I'm with @Ivor Windybottom - Do it once, do it right. Assuming you're already investing a few quid into the garden room, a DIY concrete base will run you into the hundreds, not thousands and will last the lifetime of the building. I wouldn't trust what's there

Cast iron stack - leaking at the bottom

Ah you beat me, I edited it out as I decided I was way overthinking! Yep, I'll get a dry mix around it. Thanks for all your help, not a task I fancy doing again anytime soon

    Thanks both!

Cast iron stack - leaking at the bottom

Thanks @Hugh Jaleak - it's hard to see on the darker photo, but there is indeed rodding access just above the floor. Debated the kitchen waste, but as the gully is there I think I'm just going to leave it be and keep the soil pipe purely for the loo. Do you think the steepish fall after the...

Cast iron stack - leaking at the bottom

Right, I went for it and the worst is over! Didn't quite get it done, but it's in and functional and we can use the loo! Need to haunch and pea gravel still, and back fill etc. Stressful as hell, what with having to decommission the toilet, and holy heck did the garage make things hard work...

Cast iron stack - leaking at the bottom

Hah, I was actually wondering that very thing - I'll chuck it out the front and it'll probably be gone by the morning

Cast iron stack - leaking at the bottom

Thanks all, sorry for not replying sooner - you all gave me much food for thought. In the end, as we've modernised (or are in the process of doing so) the rest of the house, I decided now is probably the moment to just replace it all. I was very nervy about removing it, but I've done the top...

    Patio & Dwarf Wall Greenhouse

Next up, was sand binding for DPM: I also put in 50mm of insulation (A controversial move, *shrug*) and then we got the concrete in I'm no concrete finisher, but fortunately it's getting covered. It's actually hilariously flat, considering, apart from that back corner. I put a level over...

    Patio & Dwarf Wall Greenhouse

So, as per my previous post - my next big mission was to get the site to some semblance of flat and at the height we needed. Another thing I've completely glossed over is I've discovered my cast iron soil pipe is leaking and that needs fixing, but I'm on a time constraint with the greenhouse...

    Patio & Dwarf Wall Greenhouse

Something I just want to say for anybody reading this down the line who maybe hasn't undertaken such projects, I'm glossing over a *lot*. You're seeing months of effort (Well, on weekends to suit me!) condensed into a handful of photos. In particular, I spent a LOT of time agonising over things...

    Patio & Dwarf Wall Greenhouse

And finally, the marked the end of the "prep" phase, and we are onto rebuilding. One thing that doesn't come over at all in the photos is how deep, and undulating the site had ended up - I needed ~300mm of Type 1 MOT, just to come up to even think about starting slabs in some places. To be...

Finally it warmed up and I was able to finish the bricklaying I'm not unhappy with it tbh, spot the brick I knocked while it was still a bit green (and I still haven't sorted!)

    Patio & Dwarf Wall Greenhouse

Have to admit, after christmas my motivation was pretty low, so it took me a while to get back out. It was still too cold to bother laying bricks (bearing in mind how slow I am) so I mainly tinkered clearing the site. Kept finding massive chunks of concrete, random rubbish etc. One of the...
