Well that didn't work so I gave up. I used a USB cable to power it and mounted it to the wall above the plug. Will get some trunking tomorrow to hide the cable and all sorted. Thank you all for your help in this. Oz

Yes you are right i did do that. I didnt really have time to test it last night but i will do it over the weekend. I dont have a multimeter but i do have an electricians screwdriver (the one that is insulated and lights up if you touch a live wire). I will leave things plugged in and power...

OK, to me that sort of doesnt make sense, if the wires i removed from the boiler Tr/Tl terminals are the same wires connected to the drayton on the wall (grey and black) that would mean im connecting a Neutral and Switched Live to the Nest???? OK when i look at that pic of the boiler all 4 of...

OK i think i just had a light bulb moment.... That picture that i posted above was taken after i wired the Heat Link to the boiler. I removed 2 wires from the room stat (Tr and Tl) and secured them away. I then put that link in between them as i was copying a pic from earlier in the post...

Just to confirm I can plug the USB cable that I would charge my phone with into the back of the nest to test it's working right? That usb cable is connected to the wall socket of a normal uk home.... I cant believe this bloody thing has cost me so much hassle. Surely there should of been some...

Oh dont say that. Well whilst I'm waiting with baited breath is there a way to test the nest without putting it on the circuit. Maybe put a USB cable into it to see if it accepts power?

That's fine. Do you think this will sort the issue and I will have a boiler back. My thinking is that if no fuse had blown then power would of got to the pcb and destroyed it but because a fuse had blown then it would of protected it...right?
