Thanks for the replies, all. WoOt, the wall is approx 2m by 4m and there are 5 patches like this, the biggest being approx 11cm x 6cm and a couple of them are tiny. Hi John, there is a Thread Tools option at the top right of the thread if you expand that there is an Edit Title option.

Doh! Is it possible to correct a thread title... it should read "Prepping a wall for painting after removing wallpaper" Edit: found the option to change it :)

Hi all, Total decorating beginner here! I've stripped the wallpaper from a wall with the intention of painting it. Beneath the wallpaper is a coat of what I'm guessing is some sort of primer/sealer. There are a few small patches where this layer has come away exposing the plaster underneath...
