    Geotherm VWS 220/2

Hi, Yep I know a lot about these systems but unfortunately not the Vaillant control side, hence the question about the controls. We've found various problems with the system at present including smart DHW cylinder piped wrong, TXV faults, superheat settings too high etc etc, i'm not asking...

    Geotherm VWS 220/2

Hi all, Has anyone worked on these ground source heat pumps before? We have a site where a couple of these are installed but we are having problems with the heating and hot water with them but I suspect it's caused by the controls/settings and was hoping someone would be able to assist in...

Valiant Ecotec 637 Low Loss header wiring

Hi Fezster, The greenstar LLH has 3 inlet/outlets on the secondary side. If I do decide to go for this, could these just be blanked and then if I ever do need individual pumps for the three zones, the at least the LLH is already installed. The low loss header would be about 1000-1500mm away from...

Valiant Ecotec 637 Low Loss header wiring

I've tried calling Mike at Ainsdale but got no reply, he's obviously a very busy man. I've managed to speak to an old colleague (who's Gas safe) he as experience of installing low loss headers on commercial systems but not so much on domestic. However, he's willing to help me installing it and...

Valiant Ecotec 637 Low Loss header wiring

Also I've just carried out a calculation found on this forum of 6 btu x the cubic footage of the house divided by 3.412 to give the Kw 22000 x 6 =132000/3.412 = 38.7 Kw plus 3kw for hot water. I've got mine set at 30kw but going off that, my boiler is slightly undersized as well although I...

Valiant Ecotec 637 Low Loss header wiring

The pump in my boiler is a Grundfos 15-75. My preference would be to keep the boier and install a LL header but I just can't find anyone with the knowledge and if they do know then they don't understand the controls side. I've rang three gas safe installer this morning, one said he had no...

I've started a new thread on this because it's no longer just about a low loss header.

Valiant Ecotec 637 Low Loss header wiring

Guy's sorry for the late reply on this. My wife went into labour since I last posted and I just haven't had chance to reply. The guys that were supposed to come and install the new LL header and associated controls has let me down. He said he's not available until the new year now and so I'm...

Valiant Ecotec 637 Low Loss header wiring

Do you have a photo of the installation showing your LLH? I'm struggling to imagine how it will look and if it will be unsightly.

Valiant Ecotec 637 Low Loss header wiring

Can I ask why you didn't go for the valiant wiring centre? I was hoping to have the boiler controlled from my phone with smart TRVs so what ever works I do, I want it to integrate in the best way possible.

Valiant Ecotec 637 Low Loss header wiring

before changing to a LLH, could I not just change the boiler pump to a bigger one or add one to the pipework to assist? Edit: Thinking about the second pump, there would be no bypass on the system for when all radiators close would there.

Instead I could use the end switch on my 2 port valve (assuming it has one) to power the pump, this way if the switch didn't open, the pump wouldn't run.

Did you do this without a wiring centre?

Valiant Ecotec 637 Low Loss header wiring

Hi Fezster, thanks for your reply. I have 10 radiators downstairs and 7 radiators upstairs. My worry about only having the one pump would be that it still wasn't big enough to overcome the resistance of the pipework and I would only know once it had been installed. Your third point is...

Valiant Ecotec 637 Low Loss header wiring

Hi, I've been having issues with my heating which looks to be caused by poor flow around the system, see the previous thread; https://www.diynot.com/diy/threads/valiant-ecotec-plus-637-radiators-not-heating-up-fully.531129/page-3 I had a gas safe registered company come in to take a look who...

Valiant Ecotec Plus 637 radiators not heating up fully

Another update since the temperatures has dropped. The water just doesn't get around the system and even though the pump is on 100% if I have upstairs and downstairs on then the system struggles and when the hot water is on, it makes it even worse. Instead i'm going to get a low loss header...

Valiant Ecotec Plus 637 radiators not heating up fully

I tried it on 15 and on 20Kw and it could get the water temp to increase with all raiators on and calling for heating. 25Kw seemed to be about right but even then it took a while to get the temps up which is why I put it up to 30kw but I might try to put it back to 25Kw. Our bungalow is 2700 Sq...

Valiant Ecotec Plus 637 radiators not heating up fully

all the radiators now seem to be balanced and are giving out a good amount of heat for the first time since we moved in so thanks. I've set the pump to 100% and at the minute the D01 setting is 30Kw at 20kw it was struggling to increase the supply water temp. I want to try and get it running...
