What controls for my new boiler??

Hi, recently moved home and boiler needed replacing. Had a remeha Avanta 18 fitted and have now found out that need to replace controls. For ease would like to fit a wireless roomstat as existing has an odd quirk of killing power to the boiler totally even if there is demand for HW. Am going...

Zanussi fridge freezer temperature alarm on - still frozen??

HI we have a Zanussi zx97/5 fridge freezer. The temperature alarm light came on but the freezer is still keeping all the food frozen solid. This happened a couple of days ago and the door has been opened, new food put in, so its not the residual temperature keeping it frozen. Any ideas...

    Icos system M3080 won't light

Hi still no joy with the "thing". The heat exchanger all cleaned out. It would appear theres no gas getting through as there is no flue smell of unburnt gas nor does it pick up a flammable atmosphere on a gas detector we use at work. The water pressure was a little low, but with no sign of a...

    Icos system M3080 won't light

Thanks for a further line of attack, would this lead to me not smelling any unburnt gas in the flue exhaust after its attempts to light? There wasnt a lot of crap in the bottom of the boiler, probably about a tea cup full at the most and absolutely no moisture, totally bone dry. I can't...

    Icos system M3080 won't light

Guys I tried removing the detection lead plug at the PCB connector, turned it on and it flicked straight to an alternating H & E which is a faulty PCB code. Reconnected it and it through the usuall 3 cycles of trying to light before coming up with the L/F fault once more, still no joy...

    Icos system M3080 won't light

Dave, I gave them both a good clean. The continuity is all ok on the detection side and I reset the gap to three mm for the igntion. I earthed it out further down the electrode and there is a good healthy spark across the tips. I let it run through the three ignition attempts whilst...

    Icos system M3080 won't light

Thyanks for the info. I've given it a good clean out, there was not a lot in there, cleaned the ignition electrode and the flame detection electrode. Seeing as it seems to run through the cycle all ok, there is a spark and the voltages to the valve seem in he region of the expected 200V...

    Icos system M3080 won't light

Thanks for the quick reply. I only removed the trap and gave this a wash through. How would I go about washing the sump out? Is the rectification electrode also known as the detection electrode? There is various clicks etc coming from the region of the pcb board etc. I put a circuit tester...

    Hotpoint WD61 Tripping the electric

The revenge of the WD61 continues!! The machine has started tripping the electric wherever it is on the timer cycle. I have had a look at the top board and there doesnt seem to have any "carbon" burns on the reverse. Any ideas on quick checks to source the problem or is it due for the recycling...

WD61 Filling with water when switched off

This has gone from one extreme to the other, we were having filling problems--that were solved by "breezer"--a top bloke listen to his advice. Now we have the opposite, the machine washes all ok, spins and pumps out fine. Then very slowly about 1 litre in 12 hours the drum will fill with...

Hotpoint Washer Dryer Taking hours to wash

 Breezer, thanks for the info it is taking an age to fill, our water pressure is real low at the best of times, plus the waters hard, but is taking ages to fill. I noticed it has failed to fully flush the conditioner from the tray suggested poor flow. I'll have a look at the filters, are...
