    Power flush for circulation problem

You all obviously get pleasure from helping folk. I find it's often the money thing that gets in the way and halves the pleasure. Then on the other hand it's often the only pleasure to be had from some jobs. If it were possible to help folk without charging AND without getting ya hands dirty AND...

    Power flush for circulation problem

Excellent. :D Full of optimism now. Will be hiring a powerflusher and also doing what you suggest. Sure it will help keep the wife and kids off my case. If it doesn't then I might use the powerflusher on them. Many thanks bab. Have bookmarked this really helpful site.

    Power flush for circulation problem

Makes sense. So I need to install a balance valve. What constitutes a balance valve? Is it simpy a gate valve or something more technically advanced? I presume it should be positioned between diverter and cylinder coil and preferably on the flow.

    Power flush for circulation problem

So my gate valve is being used as a balance valve? If we ignore the gate valve there is not another valve of any sort, apart from diverter, on the flow or return to the cyl. coil. I can see the advantage of restricting the flow during winter = rads get better priority. But not sure why I...

    Power flush for circulation problem

Bab, Please excuse my ignorance but can you confirm that when we're talking about a balance valve we're referring to a by-pass valve. Mine is fitted to the 22mm primary flow to the cyl., 15mm teed off between pump and diverter valve, and goes back to return pipe. It uses a gate valve as...

    Power flush for circulation problem

Hi, I have a problem of boiler kettling and noisy pump = circulation problem. I tried a combined descaler/inhibitor some 2/3 years ago but the problem has returned. Is there a DIY way to power flush the system?

    Replacement c/h pump speed

OK, so I should stick with the same size pump. Not sure I understand the balancing suggestion. My bypass consists of a 15mm gatevalve taken off the 22mm flow between the pump and diverter. There's no valve in the flow to coil, apart from diverter, to reduce/control flow. oilman, I can feel...

    Replacement c/h pump speed

bab, thanks for the reply. Mines an older system. I used CalChem 3-in-1 about 2/3 years ago but problem has returned. I intend to flush system again but will take advantage of the opportunity and replace pump at the same time. Hence the question re upgrading pump. Can I cause any problems for...

    Replacement c/h pump speed

Hengist asked - JohnD offers - My main question relates to changing pump for larger unit and using lower speed to reduce noise. oilman suggests - My thoughts were Hengist might be interested in reply as it obviously relates to the thread.

    Replacement c/h pump speed

I've a similar problem. Kettling boiler & noisy pump. If I replace the 15/50 pump with the more powerful 15/60 and use a lower setting will this reduce the noise from the pump whilst sufficient/suitable circulation for my Fuel Saver MKII? I think the system could do with a good flush. Is...
