Hi, Thanks, I was aware of the need for new central heating/gas etc.. It was the planning application that I hadn't given enough thought to and has thrown me a bit. I had numbers for the other bits in the budget but I don't really have any idea about the time frame or costs of the planning...

Hello, We're in the process of buying a house that is currently split into three flats, this was done sometime in the 60s. We want to turn it back into a single home and the local planning office have confirmed this will require planning permission. I had a look on the planning portal and it...

Hello, I have an Alpha E-Tec 28 combi boiler with a Nest thermostat. There was an article in the paper about reducing bills by turning down the central heating hot water temperature and the direct hot water temperature. Connecting Nest E to Alpha E-Tec

Thanks Chris_W. The company are sending an electrician Friday now but I'll try myself as its so straightforward ianmcd why shouldn't I use OT? I don't know much about it but it sounds useful, apparently saves a few pennies on gas and stops the boiler turning on and off so often.

Thanks for your replies. Pleased to have someone say the Alpha is alright. Razor do you know how much difference it makes to have a more efficient thermostat...

    Help New Boiler

Hi, 17 year old boiler is becoming very temperamental. I'd like a new one and opted for one of the online retailers - BOXT/boiler central/heatable as the plumbers I've spoken to locally are busy or not available for weeks. After some sensible advice about a combi boiler for a two bed/one bath/6...

    Indesit DIS 04 Dishwasher

Thanks. That's a shame you can't buy it separately. The first picture is the one I took out. I was hoping the second one had the same part in it. The whole dispenser is about £60 so might not be worth it.

    Indesit DIS 04 Dishwasher

Hello, The detergent drawer has stopped opening on the dishwasher and rinse aid isn't going in. After some googling I found it might be something called a solenoid that controls the drawer opening. I've taken it out and the circuit tester says it's broken. I wanted to ask about the correct...
