Help please, HIVE - Ordered the wrong one and they wont cancel it

Hi, all. Wired up the Hive and everything's been ticking along fine for the last two weeks. Thanks so much to everyone here. I'd wouldn't have been able to do it without everyone's help and advice. The wiring looks a little crappy in the picture, sorry. I did tidy it all up so it looked a lot...

Help please, HIVE - Ordered the wrong one and they wont cancel it

Thanks, guys. Beautifully detailed, stem, and great diagram, bernardgreen. So happy there are knowledgeable people like yourselves, and others who have posted here, who are willing to help. (y) Yes, unfortunately the manual from the manufacturer, Vaillant, is a bit crap and confusing. If in...

Help please, HIVE - Ordered the wrong one and they wont cancel it

Out of interest, how would you go about wiring up if it were a dual channel? Where would the wires for Common go?

Help please, HIVE - Ordered the wrong one and they wont cancel it

Sorry, I though I'd mentioned I was going to get a single channel now. My bad. Unfortunately, the drawing without the RT connector was directly from the Valliant manual. I didn't know there was and RT connection until I opened up the boiler. Thanks for double checking my wiring. I really was...

Help please, HIVE - Ordered the wrong one and they wont cancel it

Really? Oh, no! I though I'd nailed the wiring. I even compared it against the wiring someone else had posted with the same Siemens unit as me and moved to Hive. https://www.diynot.com/diy/threads/siemens-thermostat-to-hive-active-heating-wiring-help.492664/

Sorry. Yes, I can get my hands on a single channel now. It should make things less complicated.

Forgive my colouring skills, but does this look right? First picture is how the wiring is now (purple = brown), second picture is how to wire up the Hive.

Help please, HIVE - Ordered the wrong one and they wont cancel it

Oh, indeed. I hear one of the smartest on that other forum. Anyway, had a quick look at everything and it looks good. Will be able to hook up a Hive no problem. For anyone interested, you can now pick up Hive heating for £94.25 with free Echo Dot if you use a referral with £40 off (it's on the...

Help please, HIVE - Ordered the wrong one and they wont cancel it

I was just thinking. The Siemens reviver that I've already got with the boiler is probably 230V anyway. Wouldn't it just be a simple matter of replacing the Siemens unit for the Hive unit, and using the same wires?

Help please, HIVE - Ordered the wrong one and they wont cancel it

I've posted a couple of links up but they have to be moderator approved. Anyway, I posted the same question up on another forum and some eagle eyed person spotted this in the manual. So it is possible to connect a 230v controller.

Help please, HIVE - Ordered the wrong one and they wont cancel it

I did read some posts about people moving a couple of wires over in the Hive unit, but wasn't 100% that was doable with my boiler. Let me try and find the posts.

Oh, poo. Thanks for this. Much appreciated. Looks like I'll have to come up with an alternative plan.

Would be simpler, but Amazon's offer is only on the dual channel one. It comes with an Echo Dot and installation for £160.

Help please, HIVE - Ordered the wrong one and they wont cancel it

Sorry for the hijack. I'm in a similar situation. I have a Vaillant ecoTEC pro28 combi, and am currently using a Siemens rcr10/433 unit with it. Looking at the Vaillant manual, the PCB looks like it has a 24v and a 230v section. Would I be able to use a dual channel Hive with this? Thanks.
