Thanks for the info. Is Chock Block a term they will recognise in a diy shop or is it a term used by sparkies?

I have an electrical shaver socket and seperately a small flourescent tube light in my bathroom which operate but I no longer want to use them. How do I 'terminate' the wiring? do I have to pull it all out or can I terminate it safely and leave it in place, repair the holes and paper over?
