    Well i removed the EMT2 and link, wired up the thermo stat with power from the spur and the com and on ports, turn it below 10 and it turns off, turn it up and the boiler fires up no bother, to me the cabling seems ok, could it possibly be a faulty receiver? Although im getting the lights...

    So a bit of digging and i opened the boiler, the cable identified is directly to the thermostat downstairs and it goes to cn1, there is also blue&gray for power the cn1, in the connector block next to it is the blue and grey from the boilers clock but the blacks are sitting in the housing spare

    From the upstairs cupboard (where the boiler & spur are) i have 2 twin and earths, one from the spur, which went into the timer ports L&N and another that went into the thermostat ports 2&3 straight from the boiler. both timer and thermo are linked with 2 core L&N - L&N so the spur is feeding...

    The boiler is in a cupboard upstairs, the hive receiver is in a cupboard downstairs.

    Its a weird one, iv swapped the emt2 programmer for the hive receiver as the plates are the exact same, cranked the thermo stat up to 30, turned off the hive and the boiler fires up and heats the house, the only way to switch it off is turn the thermostat off.

    I thought that myself, but when i revert to the old wiring the boiler behaves like it should, seriously confused.

    Its a vokera compact28 se, are you sayin link blue from old thermo into N/O and link the the common with L? tried that to and got nowhere, everthings on but the boiler doesnt fire up on request.
