    Wiring a Drayton actuator

No it didn't make a sound. From what I read the grey wire should be permanently live. But see above, I now have a new problem.

    Wiring a Drayton actuator

And without doing anything else now my boiler won't light. Or click or twitch or any f**k**g thing, it's just dead. It worked before, albeit it cut out. Now there are zero signs of life.

    Wiring a Drayton actuator

They all come from the mains supply as far as I know, but I don't know a whole hell of a lot to be honest. Why there should be 2 sets of each, I have no clue

    Wiring a Drayton actuator

Well I tried it and nothing seems to happen. My boiler comes on but it's like the actuator isn't letting water through because the pipe leading to it gets hot, but stays cold after it. Then the boiler just cuts out because obviously it thinks it has heated all the water in the system. So should...

    Wiring a Drayton actuator

Thank you I'll have a look at the guides you have sent. In the mean time the image is how I've got it wired up at the moment. I need to explain this clearly: the black cable is from the actuator. The white cable is from the pump. You can see the live, neutral and earth wires from the pump go...

    Wiring a Drayton actuator

It's definitely a 2 port valve. It's a Drayton. The old one was a sunvic. The old one was 2 port as well. I think one of the wires on the old one was spare. The problem is that it had different colours. There were no grey or orange wires on the old one. That's why I'm a bit confused over what...

    Wiring a Drayton actuator

@AndyPRK no I just have the one. And the old one had different coloured wires and 6 instead of 5. Hence my confusion!

    Wiring a Drayton actuator

@The Novice ah that makes sense. I'm not sure what a wiring centre is - it goes to a black plastic junction that also serves the pump. So the grey will go to the same one that the live pump wire goes to you think?

    Wiring a Drayton actuator

Yes it's a valve. I was going to post in plumbing but given that it's the wiring I need help with - well here I am! I'll take some pics when I get home

    Wiring a Drayton actuator

Hi all, I have just replaced my actuator on my central heating system, but I'm unsure on the wiring. It has 5 wires. Blue, brown and green/yellow, which I fully understand and have connected to the live, neutral and earth ports on the junction. But it also has a grey and orange wire. The...
