New brushes, new pump or new shower?

I thought I would come back to finish the story (at least I hope it's the end of the story) - I could not find out for definite whether the Triton would fit exactly, and when I phoned Mira, they said that the only one of their showers that they could guarantee would fit would be the same...

New brushes, new pump or new shower?

Thank you. I'll look into that. Any other contenders?

New brushes, new pump or new shower?

Anyone? Must be a recurring problem, so I imagine a few people will have had to consider it....

New brushes, new pump or new shower?

Well, some interesting developments. I received new brushes - they were 0.5 cm longer than the existing ones, so I suppose they had actually worn down quite a bit. I replaced them last night, and the shower sounded a lot quieter. I proudly showed my wife that yes, I COULD actually fix stuff. The...

New brushes, new pump or new shower?

Thanks HumanAstronomer. I've ordered new brushes and will see whether they make the difference, but I don't hold out much hope. They only cost £6, so worth a try, I guess. I'd be really interested to hear what you find when you investigate the bearings - even if it's academic for you now, it's...

New brushes, new pump or new shower?

HumanAstronomer, I have exactly the same noise coming from my Mira Event shower. I've removed the brushes and they don't seem particularly worn down. What (if anything) did you do with your shower? Did you get to the bottom of why it was making that noise?

Disable Buzzer On Door Entry Audio Handsets

Okay, this post is to 'clean up' and bring to a close this thread. I've been involved since post 39, when the thread became involved in an issue tangential to the initial one. Thanks to sparkymarka, I was able to isolate the problem with the BPT system (described in post 41) to a wire going...

Disable Buzzer On Door Entry Audio Handsets

I did what you said, Sparkymarka, and it buzzed. Unfortunately, no spare cores at the entry panel!

Disable Buzzer On Door Entry Audio Handsets

Yep, it buzzed. So the handset is ok. I then connected 7 on the handset to the wire coming in from the buzzer switch [ie I wired the handset exactly the way it was wired before, but with a new set of (short) wires], and pressed the buzzer switch - nothing happened. Which means (I presume) that...

Disable Buzzer On Door Entry Audio Handsets

Okay, I've done a bit of testing: At the receiver unit in the hallway, terminal 7 has a resting voltage of zero volts, which increases to 5.5 V when the buzzer is pressed. (This is exactly the same behaviour that it exhibited before this problem started, other than the fact that there is no...

Disable Buzzer On Door Entry Audio Handsets

I already tried changing the handset - the original one on the wall when this problem arose was an AS C-200, and I changed it over the weekend to the Agata C-200UK, but I have the same problem. Which is the ring wire, and how would I test for damage to it? Thanks in advance.

Disable Buzzer On Door Entry Audio Handsets

I see. okay, so what implications does that have for the following problem? : I have a BPT audio intercom system which comprises: one Agata C-200UK receiver unit (in the hallway), one A/200N controller unit (in the garage), and one HA/200 audio module (at the gate). It worked with no problems...

    trouble-shooting a BPT audio intercom

Hi, I thought I would bring this thread to a close by saying: 1) I bought a new HA200 unit and fitted it this weekend. Initially there was a problem with some very loud audio feedback, which was brought under control by reducing the potentiometer for "receiver volume control", but now it is...

    trouble-shooting a BPT audio intercom

It's just 6 wire cable with no shielding - not coax, not twisted pair. No matter - I'll stick with the audio only. Is £40 about right for a new HA/200?

    trouble-shooting a BPT audio intercom

Yeah, I checked the speaker resistance and it's reading "over the range", so I suppose it's blown. I've seen a new HA/200 on the net for £40 (see picture), which I'm willing to buy, but I'm wondering whether this is the time to upgrade to a video intercom.... BUT, I would only do this if I...

    trouble-shooting a BPT audio intercom

You nailed it, sparkymarka! Not only is there no voice audio coming from the entry panel, but you can't hear the buzzer when the button is pressed. So it's very likely that the problem is at the entry panel side, not the receiver unit. Do you still think I should measure the speaker impedance...

    trouble-shooting a BPT audio intercom

I've just worked out what you meant - when you press the buzzer at the entry panel, can you hear it AT THE ENTRY PANEL itself? Pure genius! That just hadn't occurred to me at all. Will try it when I get back from work.
