Single wall socket connected to two Mini Circuit Breakers.

Wow you guys are just unending fountains of knowledge. Thank you so much. Couple of questions tho. 1. Why would you put a consumer unit on the end or is Taylor making a sarcastic joke? I dont know what CCC stands for? Google says it stands for China Compulsory Certificate. What I think...

Can you add 4mm² cable to an already existing 2.5mm² final ring circuit? Does this not overload the 2.5mm² or does the circuit compensate by distributing the load evenly on both sides of the spur (which are using the 2.5mm²)?

Thanks TCC, I understand all of this. I just want to add another socket directly to the ring from a socket that is not from a spur but was originally built with the house. That's perfectly fine isn't it?.

To answer the first question, correct. The far socket (i'll call it "far socket" to make this clearer) in the garage is the one I wanted to put a spur on (the one that had a soldiering iron plugged into it) which I thought might have been wired incorrectly. I later realised that ALL the sockets...

Single wall socket connected to two Mini Circuit Breakers.

To just shut this enquiry down as quickly as possible. The family friend did the labels and dismantled the plug in the kitchen and NOTHING else. That's why the consumer unit is such a dirty mess when I removed it to show you guys. Its likely either never been removed (since the house was built...

Hi Taylor, thanks for your patience. If you look SUPER carefully at the right one you'll see its actually 3 wires. Follow them back. Its misleading cuz of the camera angle. I've circled in black and attached an edit for easier viewing.

Would a house as young as mine use the old ring method? Wouldnt this be radial? The MCB that feeds the single socket is the MCB marked with green dot that has 3 red Live wires coming out of it.

Single wall socket connected to two Mini Circuit Breakers.

Correct but i'm not sure if this is a mistake as they've intentionally done it to every socket EXCEPT the single socket that comes directly off the consumer unit which i think must have been done by another electrician as it only uses one wire instead of the two and comes off a single MCB. It's...

Yes, the upstairs and downstairs sockets are wired the same. With a dedicated wire (when i say wire I mean earth, neutral and live inside an insulated conduit) to each of the two MCBs. I'm inclined to agree with Taylor and that this is an intended "feature" and not actually a mistake/problem...

Single wall socket connected to two Mini Circuit Breakers.

I live in a home built by property development group David Wilson that was built just over 30 years ago. Today I decided I wanted to create a spur off a socket in my garage. Out of curiosity I decided to see which MCB it belonged to so shut off the switch labelled "downstairs sockets". This...
