As so today .. no hot water .. no heating! Switched off at mains but copper piping inside boiler still hot ..3 hrs later. What is going on!

Yes everything seems fine as far as l can see. Engineer did mention this but l cant see anything anywhere. Small leak by filling but l dont think this would affect it. Really tiny and thats a cold water feed l am assuming

Would it just be easier to get a new door switch .. or could it be the stop start switch? I will have a look at it tomorrow and see what l can do with bodging it! I know the switches are easy to replace but not knowing which one is faulty could be expensive!

Thanks for the replies. It appears you both think its a thermostat problem? Hopefully next engineer will know what to do to get it working again. Hot water is fine .. but at this time of year l need the heating. If anyone else could shed some light l would be grateful

HI thanks for reply. Its under service contract with WB so not costing me! Just very frustrated that it will not work. What is Pil? Do you think its the thermostat? Why would you bleed the slave tank? I know nothing about boilers but am trying to second guess the engineer when he calls again...
