Gas hob. All 4 burners don't stay lit sometimes.

Hi. I have a hot point gas hob that doesn't always stay lit after ignition. To light a burner I need to press down the knob and turn it. This activates the ignition switch. The problem is when I let go of the knob it goes out. This applied to all 4 burners. Usually in the morning it won't...

    Dodgy shower pump

On more observation before I give up. Both sides of the shower pump seem to be hot and the little screw valve bleeds hot water on both sides. Also without the cartridge in i just get hot water coming out the void. Could this be an issue with the inside of the pump?

    Dodgy shower pump

These are the two parts of the cartridge with the one of the right going in the back of the one on the left. It's like a waxstat? Thinking about dunking it in lemon juice overnight to see if it helps any potential limescale. Regarding the pin changing position is it the one on the right picture...

    Dodgy shower pump

This didn't work unfortunately. Just very hot showers at the moment. The temperature doesn't seem to change at all so wondering if it could be a broken cartridge. Do you know how I can tell? It's a dual one so don't want to spend money on a replacement if it's not broken.

    Dodgy shower pump

Thanks. Should I turn pump off for this? Unfortunately it's fixed into the wall so it's stuck high in the air.

    Dodgy shower pump

I decided to check if the gate valve had broken so drained the cold water tank and hot water tank. Checked valves on cold and hot feed. They are fine. Checked pump filters. No issues. Refilled the system and now no issue with the shower turning on and off. However I have a different issue now-...

    Dodgy shower pump

Thanks for this. So looking at my layout- does it look like it could be pulling in air from the vent pipe? How would I be able to tell?

    Dodgy shower pump

I'll give it a go tomorrow. Kids in bed so I don't think a noisy shower pump would go down too well in the house right now. Thanks

    Dodgy shower pump

Cold water tank seems fine - couldn't see any issues. Gate valves fully open. But yeah maybe the pipes are too big for the pump so possibly should be slightly closed?

I'm not sure. Without shower head it's still not working. How can I remove limescale from mixer (if that's the issue)?

    Dodgy shower pump

Hi all. I've moved into a new house and found that the shower doesn't work well. It is connected to a salamander double inlet pump which is situated 2 rooms away. When the shower is on the pressure is poor and takes ages to get hot. When it does start to get hot the pump cuts out every 7 seconds...

Ideal classic ff250 overheating after switching off.

Hi Ian. Thanks for the response. Its on a Y plan- does this make a difference to your advice? So would replacing the thermistor sensor lead be a sensible idea? Do you know the part number by any chance? Thanks
