Any advice on guttering around this?

It’s a flat roof. I could probably put some flashing on it, then felt over it. I need to get a few better pictures of it

Any advice on guttering around this?

Ah yeah. That didn’t even occur to me! if I can make it waterproof, possibly use a UPVC profile. Trouble would be where it joins to the existing roof. Maybe some flashing could fix that. It will be visible from the master bedroom so it needs to look correct from above and below.

Any advice on guttering around this?

Thanks Notch, I’ll have a go at making something, even if it doesn’t work I could still use it as an example for a specialist or 3D printer

Any advice on guttering around this?

Evening, Not sure why whoever built this wanted to make things difficult for himself and anyone else who’d ever work on it when it could easily have been straight all the way along, but that’s a different story! I could do with some advice on the best way to gutter around this enjoyable...

    Clay drain hopper/ trap replacement

Haha, yeah the last thing I wanted to do was mess about it with that pipe! I managed to use a spare fernco adapter to reduce the fall slightly make up for it, there was plenty of room for manoeuvre. Got a D530 bottle gully to fit and then I can move on to the land drain part when it’s a bit...

    Clay drain hopper/ trap replacement

Had to delay the work until this week. But I’ve made some good progress. Managed to get a clay pipe cutter very cheaply on eBay but it was one link too short so I extended it on the fly and it cut the salt glazed pipe like a dream. While digging out I encountered an unexpected water pipe that...

    Clay drain hopper/ trap replacement

Thanks Hugh. I uncovered some more of it. I’ll pick up some bits from screwfix this week and I’ll be able to get going properly with this now. lucky I’m replacing it because I think it’s got a leak at the mortar joint. I’m planning on putting in a bottle trap for the sink etc, then another...

    Clay drain hopper/ trap replacement

I had a look for the pipe today. Thankfully it’s not encased. It’s got a big shoulder on it that’s almost touching the concrete. Might be able to drill around the shoulder and remove the concrete without causing any damage. hoping that I’ll be able to do this drainage work myself now

    Patio flooding

Ive been doing a fair bit of reading on this kind of thing. I have a related drainage dilemma myself. Not really the same as yours. The clay soil saturates very quickly and in a prolonged spell of rain the surface run off builds up fast. Maybe it’s possible to install the drainage but it...

    Clay drain hopper/ trap replacement

Hi everyone, I’m trying to work out if this job is worth taking on myself or if I should get someone in. I have a clay trap in my garage that feeds into the combined sewer. An extension was added by the previous owner but the drainage wasn’t changed. Now I have half a dozen things feeding into...

    Extending a drain run

Hi Hugh. Thanks for replying. Main drain is at the front, it all runs down from the back to the front of the house. The existing pipe is about 50cm deep from floor level. Is that deep enough? I don’t mind digging up the garage floor, with the mess of pipes I’ve got going on there at the...

    Extending a drain run

Hi Everyone, My 1930’s house has an old extension at the back and lean-to garage at the side. We are on a combined sewerage system. The drain runs straight along the side of the house in the garage. Rain water gutters for the rear of the house feed in a shoddy way through the rear wall of the...
