Thank you. The part that I think is blocked looks like the part in this pack (https://www.heatingspareparts.com/boiler-spares/partno/177477/379247). It's this equivalent part that has a 'white valve' inside it, which I would guess is the non-return valve.

The other side is an external wall, so I don't think I can get to them.

No, the only pipes are the ones showing in the original photo. So exactly what is it I need to replace then?

Easier and cheaper sounds great.....so where does an external filling loop go? Surely the 'entrance' to the boiler for any water is currently blocked/stuck?

I don't think so...? Another thing I have noticed is that the small actual filling loop seems to fill with water when I open the blue valves. I know this because I took the loop off, and there was water in it, so I poured it out. I replaced the loop, knowing that it was definitely empty, and...
