    Burner Lock out (Still)

I have been making notes of all these suggestions and will put them to him on his next visit.

    Burner Lock out (Still)

The engineer was happy with the pump pressure.

    Burner Lock out (Still)

Yes it's a balanced flu. Air in let fitted from motor inlet straight out the wall. Diameter same as inlet. Flu up through old chimney vertical....

    Burner Lock out (Still)

I think the nozzle is a 0.50 60° EH but would need to confirm

    Burner Lock out (Still)

I can confirm, The whole flu and baffles were completely brushed, scraped and vaccumed clean on the first visit by the engineer in Early January 2021 when this problem started. He then checked and changed the oil pump, nozzle and optical sensor. The boiler was then checked for correct...

    Burner Lock out (Still)

I can't get the nozzle size until I go round there Saturday. The thing is, this set up has been working and serviced regularly for probably 18 years. Nothing in the set up has been changed. I will forward the nozzle size ASAP

    Burner Lock out (Still)

Terry. I can find out the nozzle size, he just replaced the one that had been working fine since the last service but I don't know the exact readings he got from his flu/gas analyser. He did mention he was struggling to get the air 'low enough' as the air adjuster was set to its minimum setting.

    Burner Lock out (Still)

Nope... Still not working. Went round tonight and it was timed on, pump circulating but burner was locked out and had not started again... Loosing the will to live now

    Burner Lock out (Still)

OK. I had a bit of time today so I've had a look myself at the fuel connection. Checked as you advised, the presence of oil in the feed pipe before starting the burner. Seemed very little unscrewing the inlet gland and only started flowing freely once I'd lowered the end into a container. Oil...

    Burner Lock out (Still)

Thanks Oilhead. The heating engineer did mention something about the the air when he was here last. I'm sure he said he could not get less air in as it was already set at its minimum setting. He is coming back to check all the joints at some point so I will mention that. Realistically it's the...

    Burner Lock out (Still)

I would say the tank is slightly lower, very little difference tho. There is very good fuel flow through to the end of the flexi hose at the the pump. I will get the filter and all the joints checked but the problem started before anything had been changed. The heating system had been running...

    Burner Lock out (Still)

Thanks Bob. I did wonder if there was some sort of "fall back" on the fuel supply as it seems very strange it starts second time every time. The entry point for the copper fuel feed is slightly higher that the oil pump, therefore the fuel travels down to the fire valve then has to climb up...

    Burner Lock out (Still)

Would that be air in the fuel supply line? And if so, could some sort of non return valve be fitted?

    Burner Lock out (Still)

Just the first start of the day. I've been there waiting as the timer clicks on. Fan starts, 12 seconds then burner ignites, 10 seconds locks out. Second try as above but after the burner ignites, (it sounds like) the solenoid clicks and it runs as it should. It will cut on and off with the room...

    Burner Lock out (Still)

Had a few problems with my dads central heating just after Christmas. It was working fine, ie coming on/off on two timed settings each day with no problems. Just after Christmas i popped in to drop in some shopping and found it had not fired up that morning. I pushed the re set button it...

Oil burner will not start off timer

OK thanks. I will try to find out the boiler make. I think the only marking on the front is Heat World. Can't find any other markings, sorry.

Yes I intend to get him round as soon as he can fit us in. With this extreme cold snap he's been swamped out with work. Thanks again for all the advice,.
