    Textured wallpaper

Thanks for your reply. That’s a good idea. I am not sure exactly which type of textured wallpaper but was hoping not to be painting it. I was wondering if I can just go round the internal corner with one length and just butt up against the edge with the next length on the adjacent wall.

    Removing immersion heater

I hired a plumber to help. His immersion heater spanners also did not fit. He was quite confused. Got it out with a wrench in the end and put in a standard replacement from screw fix.

    Textured wallpaper

Hi If anyone knows the answer to my question I will be very appreciative. I am considering wallpapering a room using a textured wall paper. I would overlap the internal corners but think that because of the thicker textured paper it’ll form a ridge and also won’t stick where the overlap is...

    Removing immersion heater

Well, I had to give up on this one. Got a plumber to help. He went straight for the box spanner which didn’t quite fit no matter how many times he tried. He had another immersion spanner which also didn’t quite fit. He did seem a bit suprised. His wrench wouldn’t quite open enough for 86mm but I...

    Removing immersion heater

That’s what I’ll have to try but seems like more risky in terms of damaging the tank.

    Removing immersion heater

Just my luck then. I’ve never removed one before. All ready to try to get it out and hoping I am not going to break the tank and none of the standard immersion spanners fit.

Wonder why some have a notch.

    Removing immersion heater

It’s just getting any of the spanners to fit onto the nut. Wires disconnected the spanners don’t fit. Too small by a couple of mm.

Some box spanner’s have a notch for the wire but i think you still have to disconnect.

    Removing immersion heater

I am not at the flat atm so can’t get a photo. The spanner’s that I’ve tried are definitely meant for immersion heater. The ones from screw fix etc. They aren’t a lot too small, may be just a couple of mm but enough so they won’t go onto the nut at all. They fit the replacement immersion element...

    Removing immersion heater

Have disconnected first. Some box spanners have a notch for the wire though.

    Removing immersion heater

The difficulty is finding a spanner that fits the nut

    Removing immersion heater

That might work if I could get a spanner that will fit the nut but standard 86mm ones available are a little too small to fit

    Removing immersion heater

Hi I was wondering if anybody might know a solution to a problem I am having removing an immersion heater. I am really struggling to find a spanner to remove an immersion heater. The box spanner and another immersion heater spanner that I’ve tried are a few mm too small and won’t quite fit fit...

2 storey extension - is this brickwork ok?

That sounds awful. Not helpful now obviously but none of the ways that you assessed your builder would have reassured me. For a project like that I would have wanted to see a large number of reviews and taken a look at as many of their previous projects and tried to speak to as many of their...

2 storey extension - is this brickwork ok?

I agree there is really no protection for the home owner. I wouldn’t say its quite the same as being a consumer in other circumstances. As you can see building work always involves things that go wrong in one way or another. No large project like that would not have any mistakes at all. Its just...
