    Flaking/bubbling plaster/plasterboard...?

So I'm not sure what exactly is going on here but as a picture is worth a thousand words I've attached. Hoping to get an idea of what's wrong/failing and what would need to be done to fix it? Would very much appreciate your thoughts.

New Block paved drive - no visible haunches on side - is that ok?

It's not, was pre existing. Agree though, the state of it is terrible.

New Block paved drive - no visible haunches on side - is that ok?

It looks to slope away from the house, spirit measure says that it does too. The driveway it replaced did too. The contractor did say he would make sure that it would.

New Block paved drive - no visible haunches on side - is that ok?

I'm thinking there maybe wasn't enough space for that? That said, I guess if he made the drive a little narrower then there could be perhaps.

New Block paved drive - no visible haunches on side - is that ok?

I was thinking, if the concrete on the side is sufficient to hold it, to just fill it with stones similar to my neighbour so there's a bit of consistency... Or would dyed concrete be better in that gap to add strength? Neighbours side:

New Block paved drive - no visible haunches on side - is that ok?

I've just checked and what looks like sand is actually hardened, thinking there's cement mixed in there which is a bit better I think.. still not sure if it would be considered best practice ...

New Block paved drive - no visible haunches on side - is that ok?

Hi, After some advice as I'm a little concerned (but possibly for no reason). Myself and neighbour just had our driveways done at the same time and, whilst everything looks ok for the most part (to the untrained eye), after looking again I'm concerned that perhaps the edging of the driveways...

    Halogen bulb replacement trouble

Just had a look at the other one from the loft and looks like it's cabled a little different in that, there's two mains power cables going into the power supply rather than just one like the other light. Edit: just realised this is probably because the lights are linked, I think this one is...

    Halogen bulb replacement trouble

So I tried to twist the chrome bezel off and whilst it sort of spins, it doesn't seem to come loose. Think I'm going to have to take the whole thing out just to change the bulb. But thinking, as was suggested, maybe this would be a good time to switch them to gu10 if it's as simple as it...

    Halogen bulb replacement trouble

Thanks for all the suggestions so far. Ok I somewhat gave this a try and then bottled it as I didn't want to crack the pain in the ceiling. But I'm going to try again as the chrome did very slightly turn. Is that because these overheat? Is this a relatively simple task? Or is their a lot...

    Halogen bulb replacement trouble

I did try turning it but that just seems to turn the whole unit.

    Halogen bulb replacement trouble

Not sure what to do with this? Do you think I need to somehow release the whole unit down into the bathroom buy unclipping something in the attic?

    Halogen bulb replacement trouble

I can't see the clips you're referring to. Also there's a layer of glass right at the edge, the bulb sits behind that. More pics

    Halogen bulb replacement trouble

I have three spotlight type halogen bulbs in my bathroom and need to replace 2 (blown). Wasn't as easy as I thought it would be. I've never had these sort of lights before but I thought it would just be a matter of popping them out and replacing, it doesn't seem to be that simple. First I...

Mount TV on odd (to me) chimney breast.

Lucid, firstly, really grateful for depth and insight of your response, really appreciated and helps a lot. In answer to your question, there aren't any power sockets in the fireplace area. I do think you're right, I'm probably biting off more than i can chew with this mini project, assumed...

Mount TV on odd (to me) chimney breast.

I'm pretty certain there's a real chimney behind the plasterboard. It's been like this since I bought the place but I'm 99% sure. I'm going to re-attempt attaching these images....

Mount TV on odd (to me) chimney breast.

Thanks again Lucid. Ok, sounds like I'll be fine with corefix then regardless of what I find back there. (thanks for saving me the time :) ) I did wonder about my choice of tv mount, glad i posted it now. Thinking of this instead: Invision Ultra Strong TV Wall Bracket Mount Double Arm...
