Worcester Combi 20/25 Oil Boiler - Central Heating Pump

I'll keep an eye out for those markings in future. I had one last just a week once! Yes, with hindsight I could've done that, but I took the valve out before I knew that was the problem. Although more work, I think it was better to replace the whole unit after 23 years of service. I might...

Worcester Combi 20/25 Oil Boiler - Central Heating Pump

Update: I have just changed out the diverter valve. On removing the old one, I could see that the ball had become dislodged, which Terrywookfit had suggested. It was rattling around inside the chamber like a malteser :). I had a plumber mate around to help me get the valve out, as it was solid...

Worcester Combi 20/25 Oil Boiler - Central Heating Pump

Thanks Gasguru. I will look those up next time. Maybe those will last a bit longer! That's the CH stat now replaced, but I'm not going to comment yet.......

Worcester Combi 20/25 Oil Boiler - Central Heating Pump

All the motors I've fitted have been from a reputable dealer, up until the one that's in just now. For easiness at the time, I got that one from eBay. It is slightly different, but only where the cable enters the body. It is working fine, motoring when asked. I'm just back home from getting the...

Worcester Combi 20/25 Oil Boiler - Central Heating Pump

I've only changed the actuator motor, but more than a dozen times! Only two wires, so no issues there. Just found out the delivery on my CH stat is going to be 10 days. I didn't need it when I ordered it, but was going to change it anyway due to it's course feel. Then it gave way on me, so I...

Worcester Combi 20/25 Oil Boiler - Central Heating Pump

The motor is accessible on mine, as I've changed it many times. By "looking at it again" I meant looking at what I'd found on the internet for the internals. I think I found VC internals. Mine looks like this.....

Worcester Combi 20/25 Oil Boiler - Central Heating Pump

Mmmm, that's not what I thought it looked like. Obviously I've found the wrong type . Looking it again, it may be the VC type of internals I found. It was a cartridge assembly.

Worcester Combi 20/25 Oil Boiler - Central Heating Pump

I see. This is actually starting to sound more like it could be the problem. I have also noticed that that water pump is scorching hot when the central heating is on and no heat is coming to radiators. Could it be that the pump is trying to pump against a closed valve, so it is just overheating...

Worcester Combi 20/25 Oil Boiler - Central Heating Pump

I've now googled it and think I've found out.

Worcester Combi 20/25 Oil Boiler - Central Heating Pump

Terry, it is the V4044 type. At the moment, the actuator motor and the diverter valve are free to turn. I've replaced the actuator motor on numerous occasions, it's the most common fault I've had over the years. I'm suspicious of what's going on inside the valve though, as I can't understand...

Worcester Combi 20/25 Oil Boiler - Central Heating Pump

Thank you for the replies so far. Update: I had a shower this afternoon and the water was ok. I felt it could have been warmer though. When I got out the radiators were piping hot and the Central Heating was off. Later on I had another play around with the CH dial on the facia panel. This time...

Worcester Combi 20/25 Oil Boiler - Central Heating Pump

Hello everyone, I'm new on here, so please bear with me :) I have a Worcester Heatslave Combi Oil Boiler 20/25, installed in 1998. I've had very little trouble with it over the years, well nothing I couldn't sort myself....eventually! However, recently I have developed an issue which I can't...
