    Accenta Mini Gen4 + Odyssey 3 = tamper ?

That 12v reading was with nothing connected to the "tamp" output (ie the reading that the bell box was actually giving out so that the panel couldn't have any effect on this value Nope - this one is -ve tamper only by the looks of things. The bell box has its own self activate on tamper, so...

    Accenta Mini Gen4 + Odyssey 3 = tamper ?

Hi, The reading between 12v and Tamp is 12v (ish), however that wasn't enough for the panel to see that its a closed tamper. (Think the panel looks for continuity with 0v rather than a fixed voltage ?) There are no jumpers inside that I could see. I took the bell box down and had...

    Accenta Mini Gen4 + Odyssey 3 = tamper ?

OK - I've now tested the cable, and thats fine. I've connected the tamper core to the 0v in the bell box and the system reports there is no tamper fault. Is there a chance that a new bell box can be faulty ? ie not correctly reporting its tamper status ? Its one of these electronic ones...

    Accenta Mini Gen4 + Odyssey 3 = tamper ?

Seems to obvous when you arent standing there trying to work out what to do next ! I'll get up the ladder later today and meter the output of the bell box tamper. I'll also try taking the core out of the tamper connector and putting it in the 0v one, as that should have the same effect as the...

    Accenta Mini Gen4 + Odyssey 3 = tamper ?

Hi, I have an Accenta Mini Gen4 panel and an Odyssey 3 bell box. I have connected it all up but the panel shows a tamper fault. I've tested the zone tamper loop and keypad tamper loop which are fine, so I think the only tamper left is the bell box. Disconnecting the tamper from the bell...

Part P Question and Earthing Issues ?

Got a call from neighbours earlier today saying things were tripping the RCD again. After looking, it was the same 40v earth-neutral fault. This time I tested the Earth-Live (280v), and the Neutral-Live (240v). Called EDF and reported it as a fault - 45 minutes later someone...

    Is terminal strip OK?

Thanks for that. Sorry - didnt mean to nick the thread - just seemed along the same topic so pointless starting another. I've got crimping tools and a insulated crimps so no problems there.

    Is terminal strip OK?

On a simular thing - would "butt splice" crimps be ok to use in this situation? Will be rated at 32A or 48A depending if I choose the blue or yellow ones !

Part P Question and Earthing Issues ?

ah - 100 ohm - socket tester reading 5 to 10 ohm is well within then ! Nope - it didnt rain overnight - looks like it may later today though.

Part P Question and Earthing Issues ?

Electrician came in this morning - didnt believe me that there was 40v between neutral and earth yesterday ! its not there today ! Today the voltage neutral-earth of their house is around 0.5-1v, as is ours. He tested the earth rod and said it was "fine". He also tested the bit of...

    Simple Spur question

Best bet is to read up here - //www.diynot.com/wiki/electrics:part_p:diy_electrical_work_and_the_law Basically from the start of 2005 you cant do certain work without notifying Building Control.

    Mains off alarm

Or thinking about it - what about a UPS ? I think they all bleep when the power goes - and as a bonus would give power for a while in the outage. I'm not sure how they'd like being connected to a fridge/freezer though as the startup currents will be large - I'm sure someone on here will be...

Part P Question and Earthing Issues ?

Its between 10 and 100 ohm according to my socket tester, however a spark is due to come in later today and no doubt will have the correct test gear to give a more accurate reading. Even if it is 10-100 ohm, does the reading actually mean much ? - I mean if the transformer up the pole isnt...

Part P Question and Earthing Issues ?

Hi, Got called by my neighbours tonight as their RCD kept tripping when they turn on high power loads. They had a spark round last week who couldn't find the problem (said it was probably something they had plugged in which had the fault) After trying to find out what they had plugged...
