    I’ll try that thanks. Good to be forearmed in this matter. if they refuse to cooperate a quick phonecall to their lender may loosen the wheels if they are in threat of forfeiting their mortgage. they could well have mortgaged it 100k more than it’s worth.

    I own the freehold of a building where it looks like one of the leasees has converted the basement without my knowledge. on another forum it said you should contact teh mortgage provider to see if they are ( and probably are) valuing it as an extra bedroom. Is there an easy way to find out...

    Yeh got some pics from a engineer - it’s flat roof - looks like they been fixing bits of UPVC plastic (maybe from an old door or window) to the flashings and around the chimney and been making their own repairs.

    Hi we have a share of freehold and it appears the upstairs flat (1 of 3 in the building) has been performing their own DIY repairs on the roof - which we are all liable to split the cost of maintaining. the old couple upstairs appear to have been doing their own temporary repairs on the roof...
