Thank you everyone for your time and help. I can’t tell you how grateful I am :-) I have now connected a different sensor with a logical wiring format. It all now works. Horrah! It’s possible the previous sensor in question was faulty. I got there in the end.

Yes there are two smaller lights at entrance to drive, then one that lights up drive to front door.

I have swapped them round, but still no luck. When I attach the red wire from right side to both brown live wires, the light stays on when I turn the internal light switch on, so that’s working, but not when I put the red light to the black wire from sensor. Perhaps there’s something wrong with...

It’s an Eterna PIR110BK EXTERNAL IP44 110° PIR DETECTOR And yes, the blue loop was already there.

It kept tripping. So security light flashed on for a second, then the fuse box switch tripped off. So thought I’d wired it up wrong. I’m not confident with the colours of wires.

There is an earth nut in the sensor unit. I’m thinking does the yellow wire from light need to connect to that? Someone who helped me, put the yellow wire from light and grey light from input into the connector you see at front of picture. The switch is inside house ( if that’s what you mean)...

I’m trying to connect a new replacement PIR sensor to outside security light and have got in a muddle with the wiring. Some advice would be welcome. The bottom right wires are coming from light - yellow, (possibly faded green?) red, blue. Bottom left are from wall mains, brown, black, grey...
