Mouse Curser doesn't always display on bootup.

Personally, I think this is an intermittent issue with Bluetooth connectivity between the mouse and receiver or between the receiver and windows. Do you have a wired mouse to try in place of it to rule out USB port issues? Does your power settings within the control panel have any options...

    Is this still an issue?

You dodged a bullet, i skipped that too.

    Windows 11 on the horizon.

Featurewise that might end up being case for things you need but then they might bring out something you want plus when they eventually drop security patch support for the OS should be a huge motivating factor to jump ship, especially for corporate environments.

    SSD, disc drive or both?

    This, do not ignore this.

    Windows 11 on the horizon.

To add onto Opps point, Mac's have ****e central infrastructure for enterprise environments and are an absolute pain in the arse to support. I think i will run windows 11 on a virtual machine first before upgrading my main machine, can just spin up a VM on my hypervisor

    SSD, disc drive or both?

Well to answer your original question: I'd be grateful for any advice, as I haven't before had both an SSD and traditional hard drive on my previous computers. (you have a hyrbid style HDD with a fast memory cache) On my new Windows laptop, everything - Windows, all programmes and files, etc...

    SSD, disc drive or both?

Yep Optane memory so an HDD with a separate stick of optane memory (fast memory) usually 16 or 32GB where your frequently accessed data is stored, it's basically combining the benefits of high capacity low cost HDD and the speed of faster storages in a hybrid manner. It shows D: as a 'removable...

Hanging heavy bag from Garage roof

Actually just got floor plans up the garage 2.59m wide by 5.39m long So the rafters are very likely 5m total.

Getting sticker residue off a placemat

Could use isopropyl alcohol, which will completely evaporate away and is perfect for things like this.

Hanging heavy bag from Garage roof

If you are referring to the rafters in my garage yes the garage is just shy of 6M long (back of garage to garage door) Just to add they appear to be extended further down using those metal plates that hold the rafters together

Hanging heavy bag from Garage roof

Now I think I know what you both mean, thick heavy duty joists NOT rafters fixed to the top of the piece of wood resting across the top of the wall above the window running in parallel to current rafters. And if the joists do not fit, use joist hangers attached to the wall The fixing holding...

    I reckon they would yes.

Hanging heavy bag from Garage roof

I don't quite understand you. Are you saying get some very long joists in to go across the rafters from left side of the garage to the right and fix them down then fix the bracket to the top of the joists? and if not feasible use smaller pieces and joist hangers?

    SSD, disc drive or both?

Ah looks like you might have something called Optane storage so potentially a HDD (hard drive) with a fast cache, your most regular accessed data is in the fast cache which is a special cache stored in memory for fast access. Search the start menu for 'system information' open 'system...

    SSD, disc drive or both?

Fancy getting the make and model of the drive so i can best advise, it might be a hybrid drive? Is this a desktop or a laptop? Do you know how many physical drives are in the system?

Hanging heavy bag from Garage roof

Thanks, I have tried my best to understand your suggestion and this is my understanding of it (please let me know if right or wrong) In the picture below where the red squares are is where I would place the joists bolted together side by side so they are 'wedged' between the rafters and above...

    Admin can't admin

A backup of your data and a reinstallation of W10 would be the easiest way. However if you don't want to do that can you run cmd/windows terminal as an administrator with the right-click option and select run as administrator. If you can launch a cmd window with which has system32 in the...

    SSD, disc drive or both?

The right option here depends upon your use case and what you want out of it, a couple of points to consider: 1. Stick to the SSD for your OS, it's much better for boot up time and performance 2. What is the make and model of the "D: drive" and how old is it? 3. Do you have a backup for the D...
