Ok to fill this crack or is further investigation needed?

The reason I included the images of the outside was to show that the crack was previously repaired on the outside but appears to have remained intact as it was completed before we moved in 10 years ago.

Ok to fill this crack or is further investigation needed?

Yes, no cracks in PB that I can remember. So should I fill with foam or something else? Also, any reason why the builders wouldn't have tied the new extension into the existing building or is it just poor workmanship?

Ok to fill this crack or is further investigation needed?

I'm currently renovating an ensuite bathroom in an extension that was added to our house by the previous owners more than 20 years ago. After removing the old plasterboard I uncovered the crack in the images. It appears the cavity blocks of the extension are not tied into the original house (the...

    Which UV oil on cladding

Reposting here as no replies in the woodworking forum... I'm looking to clad a garden wall without breaking the bank i.e. Red Cedar and composite is too expensive. I'm looking at using pressure-treated PAO White Deal battens 75mm x 22mm nominally (horizontally fixed to vertical battens). The...

Which tinted UV oil on PT PAO timber?

I'm looking to clad a garden wall without breaking the bank i.e. Red Cedar and composite is too expensive. I'm looking at using pressure-treated PAO White Deal battens 75mm x 22mm nominally (horizontally fixed to vertical battens). The supplier says it's kiln-dried before the PT but that it's...

Solvent Cement for mix of ABS and PVC pipe

I should also note I was only moving to ABS externally on the recommendation of someone on the other thread I had that you were involved in also

Solvent Cement for mix of ABS and PVC pipe

@denso13 What about converting from PVC to ABS. Was going to use 32mm White PVC internally and convert to 40mm Black ABS where it goes external but now wondering if this reducer is only meant for ABS to ABS? If so, I'll just have to do everything in ABS I guess internally rather than faffing...

Solvent Cement for mix of ABS and PVC pipe

I've to fit some runs of PVC and ABS solvent weld waste pipes. Have only used PVC waste pipes before and typically used this solvent cement - however I noticed it specifically states It's for PVC pipe. Will this solvent cement from Screwfix do ABS (and possibly PVC also)? Thanks

Best way to route waste pipes

Best way to route waste pipes

Getting around to ordering everything I need. I have a question on connecting the two 40mm wastes into the soil stack - Am I right in thinking that =2699,2724,4157']this just pushfits into =2699,2724,4151']this? Looking at my options it's either that or using two strap on bosses and I gather the...

22mm OSB3 vs Ply bathroom subfloor

@Deluks just one more question on this if you don't mind - why use a 6mm cement board on the 18mm ply and not a decoupling mat?

22mm OSB3 vs Ply bathroom subfloor

yeah my ideal would have been this NoMorePly 22mm T&G Cement Board but unfortunately they don't supply this in the Rep. of Ireland and the stores I checked up North don't stock it either. Do you reckon 18mm Ply is sufficient then for the structural subfloor and 22mm not needed? (as my...

22mm OSB3 vs Ply bathroom subfloor

Just sanity checking if 22mm OSB3 T&G is fine for a subfloor 1st floor bathroom instead of Ply? The joists are 400mm centres and I plan to stiffing up with noggings. I'm replacing the existing 22mm floorboards which are in bits and have been cut in lots of places by previous owners. It's an...

Best way to route waste pipes

Thanks all - so as long as I enter the stack over 200mm below the WC waste center I won't need to reposition the WC soil pipe. If I run basin waste under the battens that will be against its wall, I could only get 32mm under them for the first run (1.6M) due to the batten depth, drop down a...

Best way to route waste pipes

I'm renovating an ensuite bathroom and would love some advice on how best to route the waste pipes. The existing set-up is in the photo attached, where the Green marker is the current shower waste, Red is obviously the WC waste and Blue is the existing basin waste. This room is a 2nd floor side...

    Help with painting doors/skirting boards

True, but then again people search for things like this and this thread could show up so it can be good to still have responses, particularly if the most likely answer/reason hasn’t been explained yet.

    Help with painting doors/skirting boards

Given the level of peeling I’d say it’s more likely the previous paint was oil-based and you used water-based over it. So you either need to use oil-based again or a decent primer like BIN that will give you a key to take either type again.
