Not been in the loft Terry, literally watched the news on the old TV then changed the TVs over and no power at the socket, nothing tripped on the consumer unit, so I think I need to trace the cables up in the loft and hopefully find a fuse and hopefully not a wire eating squirrel!!

You’ve lost me there Terry, sorry. I initially tested the cables with a voltage detector pen then the voltage with a multi meter, both showed no voltage.

I just tested for power from the back of the socket, the TV is now working from a different socket

Opps - it was fitted by an electrician about 10 years ago when we had an extension done (high socket for wall mounted tv), the cable runs into the garage from the living room (bungalow) then up into the attic via trunking. CBW - No, not to my knowledge.
