    Immersion tripping RCD

Hi, just to let you know that I fitted a replacement heater today. Exactly the same model as the first one. Yes it worked perfectly! So the first new one must have been faulty, even through it tested OK with a basic multi meter. So, thanks to everyone for their comments, the help was...

    Immersion tripping RCD

Hi Andy, yes I have tested with good but basic multi meter, no connection between the neutral and earth or live and earth. 19 ohms on the element, which I think is about right. So with my basic tools it would seem OK and it is a brand new Tesla Titanium unit. Getting a new one as I really don’t...

    Immersion tripping RCD

I managed to get a couple of hours today, so had another try. I disconnected all the neutrals bar the immersion and switched off all MCBs bar the immersion. Guess what still the same! So I tried a new length of 2.5mm twin and earth laid down the hall. Yep still the same. So a new immersion...

    Immersion tripping RCD

Hi Thanks again for the help. Yes, cable changed for new one and also run off a nearby but on separate MCB ring main and same problem. Insulation and resistance of the new heater seems OK, but only measured with a standard type multi meter. Next step is to try disconnecting some neutrals as...

    Immersion tripping RCD

Hi Bernard green, thanks for your reply. So if I try the heater with other circuits switched off, that may help identify a problem on the disconnected circuit. Just one thought, if that was the problem, wouldn't turning on another high load device like the oven, cause it to trip? Thanks Pete

    Immersion tripping RCD

Hi, sorry but another immersion heater tripping RCD, question! I’ve read loads but no seems to have the same issues I’m having so would really appreciate some help. Two weeks ago the RCD tripped. Narrowed it down to the immersion heater. As by coincidence I was planning to change to the hot hot...
