Thank you for the advice - This is a dormer loft conversion to code. The plans are silent on this, and various builders' advice come up with different answers. Most are similar to your comments, there is not a req to insulate/board the actual party wall in additon to the stud.

Dormer cheeks are stud, including an internal stud wall enclosing the chimney breast to sloped roof. Query: Plans say to scratch coat existing party wall and install insulated plasterboard. Builder says not necessary, insulate just stud wall and use fireboard. Thoughts? Thanks
