    Does anyone know if a heat exchanger from a halstead finest, gold, ace high,would fit a finest platinum? Looks like you can buy loads for the other models for as little as £20 but not the platinum OEM number is 451011 in my book with boiler.

    It’s a possibility as I have two, one in use and one I use to swap over and then I descale it and use next time, I generally have to change it every on a yearly basis as it gets blocked, the pipe work wasn’t properly flushed when it was fitted years ago.

    I was thinking of trying that tbh but couldn’t see how the pcb came free from the outer case, undone a couple of screws , then a clear cover comes off but not sure whether to try and pry the board up , is it clipped in somehow ?

    No, I don’t have the engineer code, it was fitted 16 years ago and have lost touch with the guy who fitted it . May have to pay someone to come out but looks easier enough to do if I can stop the alarm going off !
