    Condensation like wildfire

Ok great will try this. Yes I will pull floorboards up over the weekend. There is no pipe work there as it’s a block pillar with an RSJ. Also reason for my thinking is this started months prior when I took a small part of the hallway ceiling down, stopped, and then started again once I removed...

    Condensation like wildfire

Hi all. I have discussed this before in here just l want more info. FYI this is not a leak. This only ever started when o took the hallway wall down behind the pillar the condensation started on. Since then it has started on both sides of the wall and is spreading daily even after I dry it out...

    Water mark appeared (Ed.)

I will do this today. Thanks. It all started when I removed part of the ceiling in the wallway. Almost as if cold air has caused it. And since taking the whole wall down in the hallway, it’s multiplied quickly

    Water mark appeared (Ed.)

There is no pipework, above is my open plan landing. That wall is a solid breezeblock pillar and it’s only on part of the wall (not to the ceiling) Before I did the timber work in the image, you can see the pillar and the RSJ that sits on it. It seems to have happened since I created the void...

    Water mark appeared (Ed.)

No it doesn’t really. It’s strange as it’s a solid block pillar with no pipe work etc above it so damp doesn’t seem possible

    Water mark appeared (Ed.)

What would have caused that to appear out of nowhere? What is the reason it would just do this? Its only happened since I took the wall down (and I’m now assuming cold air is something doing it?)

    Water mark appeared (Ed.)

No i can see into the ceiling the RSJ is there (on top of the pillar) and no pipes. It’s very strange but almost as if because ive taken the wall down, cold air has some how affected the wall? As there’s a void in the celing. Its all i can think of whats causing it

    Strange mark appeared

Will check more floor area but the lintel is quite a distance from that mark and nothing above it is wet. I may be wrong but I would have thought it would show on the plasterboard ceilings near the lintel? That corner is quite a distance from the lintel, and low down

    Strange mark appeared

It’s completely dry under there and I’m directly above that mark upstairs
  13. C

    Strange mark appeared

Yes that pillar holds a lintel. On the landing the only pipe running through the floor on the landing is the gas

    Strange mark appeared

Hi there In the last few days this has appeared on the corner of an internal wall downstairs. It’s progressively got bigger. Ceiling is dry and no pipes are leaking upstairs (also no pipes in that wall) The other side of this wall is the hallway and the back of this wall goes up the stairs.

Strange mark on wall, possibly damp

The landing. But nothing is leaking up there in the floor as I can see it all (I’m renovating). Also, nothing else is wet. On other side of the wall or above it.
