Thank you for the speedy response. I was trying to remember from a school electronics class, but that was 33 years ago and I didn't want to burn the house down. :giggle:

I want to extend the cable of my soldering iron, with an inline switch, it has a 3 amp fuse and 3 wires, but I cant find a switch that is 3A, would 13A be safe to use? Cheers
