Soil Pipe Branch (Current Setup Seems Botched and Old)

@denso13 Sorry to jump back on the thread; I've seen a diagram of the same on Screwfix, and it looks like you have to insert something from the inside of the pipe to achieve a mechanical connection.

Soil Pipe Branch (Current Setup Seems Botched and Old)

I see what you're saying; I suppose I see the pipe not even installed plumb and assume it's all crap. Following your advice, I have now checked the lower boss for leaks (in the ceiling void) and found a 22mm white barrier pipe not bossed in, just inserted into a hole in the stack (I think it's...

Soil Pipe Branch (Current Setup Seems Botched and Old)

It doesn't seem to be leaking. Bath waste is almost level, not enough drop; I guess this could be sorted by a better low P-trap. Basin waste is high on the wall, and we would prefer to have it much lower so final boxing in can be neatened up.

Soil Pipe Branch (Current Setup Seems Botched and Old)

Thanks, that's a good idea, but it does still leave an awkward bath waste issue. At the moment I am considering dropping the wastepipes through the floor, running it into the kitchen below and boxing it in, although I'd rather not if I can help it.

Soil Pipe Branch (Current Setup Seems Botched and Old)

Hi everyone, I’m currently planning out a bathroom refurbishment with a tight layout. I want to tidy up the pipes in the bathroom. I need a solution for the toilet, basin and bath waste. I expect that fitting a new branch in the soil pipe is necessary, as the current setup seems poorly done...

    Cold bridge mould at eaves

Last winter, I noticed mould along the eaves on the ceilings of both my daughters' rooms (picture after I cleaned it off with bleach). I have beefed up the insulation previously and fitted Manthorpe Refurbishment Eaves Vents to prevent the insulation from blocking the roof ventilation. The...

Staining Set Concrete: Improving Colour Pavers

Are there any products to allow the staining of set concrete that's set already? Looking to improve the look of some pavers before I seal them.

    Bathroom light trackdown issue.

Have detected the issue: a very small split in the ducting condensing on the vent and dripping down (which I missed when I first looked ). Have brought "Aluminium Insulated Flexible Ducting Hose" and fitted. Will move the switch as suggested but need to fit new as its burnt out...

    Bathroom light trackdown issue.

It sounds like I have to replace the switch, which is good news. What should I be looking at buying?

    Bathroom light trackdown issue.

Hi all, No recent work done at all. I think I may have tracked it down with your help. The switch next to the fan in the attic opened it up, and its wet inside. I am assuming there is a slight leak (although none I could detect) from the roof tile vent used to extract as the switch is...

    Bathroom light trackdown issue.

Thanks all... Yes it used to work fine. No recent work done. Everything worked until a few days ago. (I assume thats what your getting at.) @ericmark and @sparkwright So your both suggesting a fan replacement? Yes, the junction box did have a cover (back on now) just so I could see what...

    Bathroom light trackdown issue.

Currently, my bathroom light and fan don't turn off. I have replaced the light bulb and the bathroom switch just in case (the switch needed doing anyway), but that has not solved the problem. What process could I go through to track down this issue? I do wonder if this juction box could have...

    Gravel Driveway Sub Base Improvement

I'm looking for some guidance on improving the subbase of my driveway (currently the driveway is old and damaged/badly done tarmac). I intend to finish with gravel driveway flint or something interlocking. I want the driveway to be permeable, so sub-base is key, as I understand things...

    Removing Electric Shower (Blanking?)

I am assuming the following would be OK to use: 13A 1-GANG DP SWITCHED PLUG SOCKET Do I need to worry about clipping the wires leading to the socket?

    Removing Electric Shower (Blanking?)

Yes, you're right. I would need to sort this. In terms of the blanking should I tape off the wire ends in some way as well as encapsulate them in the back box? Good idea about the switch plastic back box - plus blank plate, will do that.

    Removing Electric Shower (Blanking?)

Hello, I want to remove my old electric shower and make the ceiling good (remove the switch). I can/have switched off the shower in the consumer unit, but I want to leave the wire and switch in place just in case. I assume that the best practice is to blank off the (now not live wire) in the...

Neighbour brick wall built directly on their driveway?

The fence before was the same/similar height. I know they should have replaced it like for like. What can I do if it is a surface water drain, wait till it rains then complain? I agree, but what can I do about that now it's built? They extended the driveway in one area as it was being built.

Neighbour brick wall built directly on their driveway?

Not only that, but even the wall is over the boundary (based on where the face of the old fence came to, that is). They have also knocked over the last pillar on my front garden wall (no consultation whatsoever). Part of that foundation was built out as the wall was constructed, so from where...
