Hi, just put a thermometer in the room you normally use, and see what the temp gets down to on cold nights and set accordingly, or just set to come on earlier than normal as I did. Can always turn bedroom radiator off or set the rad thermostat lower when you go to bed, so it doesn't get too warm...
Hi John
I think the PDF you are looking at is a bit out of date, I was a bit confused by this document after mine was installed. The 050 range does have a limited Advanced WC, in that you can now adjust the curve as shown in the lower diagram by using the Vicare app, instead of being a fixed...
Sorry, not sure I understand, I may be explaining things wrong. The house is hovering around that because the WC is controlling it totally. I don't want the boiler to switch off and on around 20 C, that would sort of defeat the object of WC which is to maintain a steady temperature.
My...
Well it would if the controller was in charge, but the WC is now controlling the boiler between those temperatures, as I said the controller's sole purpose is to switch the boiler on and off according to the temperature I have set for it. yes the boiler is running, but only to heat the house...
It's just digital, ON when room temp is below 23, and OFF (at night) when above 18. So WC has full control. ie. I'm letting the WC set the room temp for me (20/21). It rarely reaches the set point (23), unless cooking or something, then it will turn the boiler off until it drops below 23. I just...
No, it's set to 23 during the day, the room temp hovers around 20-21, so doesn't activate. At night it's set to 18, so again didn't activate as room temp is higher than that. I'm talking about the controller, and not the boiler, that is set to 20.
Even though I have a room stat, effectively I am still running on WC only, the only difference being the boiler is off overnight as the temperature in the house is normally warm enough, last night it was 18.5 deg with OT of 1 deg so boiler doesn't kick in. During the day the room stat doesn't do...
Ok, didn't realise the tech details of controller :)
It says in all the manuals sensor should be North facing, if it's a recent install can't you get him back to reinstall it in correct position free of charge, as it's clearly an error on his part.
It mentions two ratings in the manual as follows, Rated Heat Outputs : 50/30 C - 3.2-19 kw : 80/60 C 2.9-17.1 kw : DHW - 25 Kw. But on their web site it says this - Output Rating : 3.2-25kW and a DHW output of 29.6kW. Not sure why its different.
The heating curve was initially set by the...
When my 050 boiler is set to WC mode, which the installer did, you can set the room temp to be 20, 21 etc. I used the app to do it, and this is shown on the boiler display. By setting this the heating curve is set to an optimum setting to heat the house to this temperature. Viessmann obviously...
Basically the controller is used as an ON/OFF switch and set up that way on the boiler, you're right on the first line, the WC will control the target flow temperature, but only to whatever you have set the boiler to using the WC curve that is comfortable for you in your home, i.e. my boiler is...
Yes we had loft insulation installed last month, and the difference in the bedrooms is really noticeable, of course part of that could be the new WC and boiler. It's about 19 deg overnight, so retains heat quite well, used to get quite cold at bedtime and in the morning! That is quite a lot of...
I'm using normal, mainly because I didn't know what TPI was. I know now. I think it's irrelevant at present because because the temperature never reaches the setpoints anyway, I just let the weather comp do it's thing. It may be handy if temperature goes below 18 in the house on very cold...
Haha, with the weather comp its about 20 deg, what can I say, we're really old (76) and in most days, I'm married to a lizard. :giggle: The bill isn't that bad at the moment anyway
It seems to work ok for me, obviously will have to monitor what happens when its colder overnight but the outside temperature dropped 5 deg the other night all night, but it will all depend on how warm your house is normally. As you stated WC couldn't cope with large temp changes, it would take...
