Help fixing this bird bath to our balcony

I'm not drilling into the handrail. Plus, this is a co-op, can't do that.

Help fixing this bird bath to our balcony

Well it wasn't $2, and I'm not in the habit of intentionally damaging things I like. Anyway, thank you, your advice has been very helpful and I'll probably try something similar to what you're suggesting.

Ok, that's what I thought you meant. Unfortunately, just playing with a bit of wood, the way this reed fence is stitched together, the wood is going to crush the reeds because you have to squeeze against the railing firmly to keep the two pieces of wood together. Actually, even if the reeds...

I had to draw it out.. do you mean like this? The bottom is an overhead.

They're literally thin reeds as in the photo. The lattice off on the side is essentially purely decorative and simply zip tied to the balcony fence.

Hmm.. sounds doable then. So how would I bring these two pieces of wood together? Sorry, I'm having trouble visualising how screws would bring two pieces of wood together sandwiching the vertical rails to fix them strongly enough so they can take the weight of the birdbath...

Help fixing this bird bath to our balcony

I can't really go through those reeds because in the summer we have a lattice wall we place in front. I risk damaging the fragile reeds. I was hoping to do something that adheres to the top railing. Off to the side, I have a tree trunk, about 10cm in diameter that I attached a flat piece of wood...

Help fixing this bird bath to our balcony

If there is a more suitable forum, I couldn't find one. This isn't exactly "garden". We have this very simple heated birdbath we'd like to install on our balcony but I'm coming up against problems I don't know how to solve... The photos in that link will show the mounting options it comes...

    Undermount sink issue

Thank you so much everybody. Brackets installed, sink no longer hanging without support and everyone here contributed to helping me feel like it was doable. Much appreciated.

Opinions on insulation type/material for this door?

We've got a door to our balcony from our kitchen. We just bought this apartment a year ago and had our first winter here last year where we noticed something isn't right with the insulation. The door knob actually gets frost and it seems what was installed there by the previous owner just isn't...

    Undermount sink issue

So, I got these. I can't detach the entire sink to clean the whoole underside of the counter and the top of the sink edge because there are pipes and an Insinkerator to contend with and I don't have the plumbing skill or tools to make that happen. What cleaning product and adhesive can I get in...

    Undermount sink issue

So you'd remove the bar of wood and just place those straps across the back and front of the underside of the sink? I don't think I understand. Repair brackets look like what, can you show me a link? Honestly, I can't stand anything in kitchens that is made to look great but complicates repair...

    Undermount sink issue

(In the interest of being on the same page, I'm in Canada. So some similiarities to the UK, some to the US with materials, etc) Our undermount kitchen sink appears to be separating one one side ever so slightly from the quartz countertop. There's an angle there that wasn't visible before. We...

Yeah, I'm beginning to realise that. I think we'll have to pass on this project and find similar lighting that is made to be more straight forward to install rather than trying to modify this for home use without knowing enough about what we're doing or having to do important changes to our...

Want to switch out a kitchen faucet

From the manual, I'm referring to these parts... 6, 7, and 8. We were convinced we had kept those all these years and they're nowhere to be found.

Thank you so much for EVERYTHING you said in your post. There's a reason I come here instead of North American sites and forums around me.

Well all the ones I've ever seen are just connecting lamps to the + and - wires in the ceiling. Nothing more complicated than that. But what I don't know about is the physical mounting to the ceiling with these lamps. I'll go to that forum, thanks.

We want to buy them because we need new overhead kitchen lights, we love the look and that's about it.

Thank you SO much for all that explanation. Extremely useful. I was told they are each about 14 inches in diameter. I assume the person means along the opening on the lamp opening. But they literally said, "look, they're in good shape, they are in one piece, for anything about their...
