Had A Fall Out With Tradesmen

Looks like they are doing a good job to be fair. Look on the bright side, they could have not bothered haunching at all and you would have a lovely lawn but with edging blocks that move.

    Screeding for block paving

Not neccesarily. SUDS legislation applies to the whole make up of the driveway from the sub base to the type of block used.

    Screeding for block paving

I would check with your local authority as some will insist on a new driveway being SUDS compliant.

    Screeding for block paving

We don't use KD sand anymore for brushing in. It's 1-4mm Joint Filling Aggregate which is a crushed granite and is SUDS compliant.

    Screeding for block paving

You need 50mm of bedding layer which historically was Sharp Sand but now people are using 2-6mm Clean Stone for SUDS compliance

Driveway contractor problem (not working as agreed)

    That looks ridiculous. Don't pay

    Advice - permeable drive

Gravel Grids will probably be the cheapest option. Whichever option you choose it will usually require a sub base of Type 3 followed by 4/20mm or 2/6mm Clean Stone to comply with SUDS regulations. If you go down the block route the block manufacturer will advise on a spec.

    Water logged garden

Yes it will but at least you will be able to walk on the stones rather than in a puddle

    Water logged garden

Soakaways don't work particularly well in clay. A simple trench backfilled with gravel will create a temporary store of water which will dissipate, albeit very slowly.

    Water logged garden

French Drain or Aco Drain discharged into nearest surface water outlet (usually downpipe)

    Slate in garden

Even with weed membrane you will get weeds grow in the detritus that accumulates between the slate. A weak solution of weed killer will do the trick. Just be sure to ensure it isn't windy to avoid overspray.

How deep for concrete for drive way

Most driveways have to be permeable and comply with Sustainable Urban Drainage System requirements (SuDS) these days and will require planning. Different councils/authorities have different rules on what spec is required but highly recommend you check. I have known driveways having to be ripped...

    MOT Type 1

Hambletons are good. I always use Mainland Aggregates - Type 1 Sub Base However, judging by your previous posts I think it isn't going to be cost effective to replace. If the material compacts ok, it is probably best to make do with what you have.

    MOT Type 1

By no means was a suggesting that it was acceptable due to being spread. But the time and effort it will take to return to a position where it can be collected may be more costly that it is worth.

    MOT Type 1

The certificates wouldn't be supplied with the delivery but should be available on request. It is a shame you have spread it, as the supplier will argue that this is your acceptance of the material. The supplier will be very reluctant to remove the material if it has been moved from the original...

    MOT Type 1

It's recycled Type 1. Those materials are all acceptable provided the supplier has had the materials tested. If it hasn't been tested it is Type 1 Graded Hardcore and not certified Type 1. If you have been sold the product as Type 1 Primary, it is not. If you have been sold it as Type 1...

    MOT Type 1

It might be an Ecoblend which is a combination of the 2.

    MOT Type 1

It's a bit rough but looks ok. Difficult to tell the size but Type 1 can be up to 63mm down to dust in size and still comply with clause SHW803. You could ask for the grading certificate from the supplier for piece of mind. The soily appearance will be cause by crushed mortar dust which always...

Weed control fabric before compacting MOT type 1

The membrane is not just for weed prevention, it is to stop the sub base (i.e. Type 1) from mixing with the sub-grade (i.e clay) underneath. For the sake of a few pound for a membrane I would use one regardless.

    Shed gym on type 1

Provided the Type 1 is completely level you will have level slabs when you lay them. If not you may need to bed them on a sand/cement mix. You will need to ensure you have plenty slabs to spread the weight of the shed though or you may end up with the floor bouncing.
