Just double checked on a plug socket which I know works - making sure they were touching the metal. Still nothing. I think we will call an electrician!

Don't have a picture of our multimeter as I have put it away now. Touching the copper of the wires coming out of the wall. The same as in this pic:

We thought that might be the problem so we disconnected the block and tested it straight on the copper of the wires, still -0.

Help installing lights - wattage too high?

Tried, but the multimeter we got just shows 0 for some reason - power is definitely on and wall switch on. Multimeter is set up correctly according to the instructions and tutorials we watched! Not sure if it is defective - it was only cheap from Amazon. Tried it on a battery in DC mode - worked...

Help installing lights - wattage too high?

Help installing lights - wattage too high?

These are the lights: https://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Products/KBUCLED13WW.html There were no lights there when we moved in, just the wires hanging out of the walls. Wall switch goes directly to the lights, no transformer. There is another identical one of these in the kitchen on the other...

Help installing lights - wattage too high?

Ok! The lights are connected to a wall switch - have turned that off and on. Pen thing shows higher power when on and lower when the wall switch is off. What photo's would be helpful? How would I find out the voltage?

Hi, I'm looking for some advice on installing under cabinet kitchen lights. We have recently bought a maisonette, a lot of the lights were not working - I have replaced 6 lights in the living room which all work. We have been left with unsightly wiring and connector blocks underneath the...
