Many thanks. Yale could not give me any pointers as to whether it was the lock or gearbox but were happy to offer me a 10% discount on a new lock! Based on crank39, which sounds very logical, I will go the gearbox route first. Looking at the link you kindly provided the outer fixing holes match...

I have the same issue when the door is open so I'm pretty sure it's not alignment. The handle lifts and the multipoint mechanism moves to lock. It will, however not unlock unless I gently push the latch in 2-3mm (door open) and then the handle will lower and unlock. I am suspecting the gearbox...

I have exactly the same problem with multilock/Yale Keyfree of a similar age - any chance you could enlighten us as to which bits needed the WD40? Any guidance appreciated.
