    Skimming or not?

    Thanks. My idea was to cut a square patch of the blown plaster out and replace with board ready for skim. As for the smaller holes, would you rake out and just go over with Hardwall or something else? I,ve used Hardwall before seems to be good but a bitch to skim over?

    Wallrock is good. I did it in my living room with the premium paper, BUT it will still show bumps and lumps if your walls arnt smooth. IF the walls are smooth with the odd crack, wallrock is perfect, you cant rip it.

    Exactly what I thought. Outside wall is supporting windows which were put in less than 8 months ago. It is a cavity wall so I just need new straps and rebuild. Much appreciated

    Hi Redecorating the front living room. Pulled skirting off and some plaster came off too. No surprise as the bricks are loose. Question is what are the straps for? The bricks are also very loose, you can push the wall and it moves. Exterior bricks are solid. any advice?
