2 Texecom Odyssey X3 to one expander

Right. I reread a couple of times and o get it now. Bridge the zone terminals, wire the tamper to the tamper terminal that is not 13v when probed against 12v aux. Programme zone to tamper and double pole/eol. All works great. Thanks so much. One follow up - is it right to set the zone as...

2 Texecom Odyssey X3 to one expander

Brilliant - I think this is what I am looking for, some follow ups if you dont mind please: 1 - Is it okay to connect both the bells to the aux 0v and 12v on the PSU side or should I connect to the expander aux power? or one of each? 2 - I think i understand about using a zone but to check, I...

2 Texecom Odyssey X3 to one expander

Hello all - some questions I have been thinking over I could do with your expertise on please. I have a PSU200XP panel that I would like to connect 2 Odyssey external sounders to. I believe there is enough current supplied from he PSU200XP for them to both be connected as SAB as I only have a...

Which Texecom Exodus in kitchen, garage and loft

I get that it’s hard to recommend. I guess the key question is whether the exodus rate of rise detectors are likely to be triggered by normal temp changes in a kitchen, loft or garage or whether the rate needs to be so fast that it will be okay. I know optical are out for these areas but...

Which Texecom Exodus in kitchen, garage and loft

Hi all I am adding some Texecom Exodus sensors to my panel. Mostly these will be the OH optical and heat models which look like the best for most domestic rooms. I also want to add some to my kitchen, boiler/plant room, garage, un-boarded loft with blown insulation, a toolshed/workshop and a...

Texecom Exodus - keypad sounds - bell doesn't

Well massive thanks for all your help and guiding me through the troubleshooting. I have 4 more buildings to add to the system as different areas over the next few weeks so you may well see me popping up desperate for help again in the near future. Thank you

Texecom Exodus - keypad sounds - bell doesn't

I am shocked - I did a power cycle of the panel, pulled the fuse and the battery and now it works as it should. Just activated the zone when unarmed and the external sounder worked! Cant believe the solution was ultimately to 'turn it off and on again'!! Is a power cycle a common requirement...

Texecom Exodus - keypad sounds - bell doesn't

Just had a look at the logs which show something interesting. When disarmed the heat sensor activates and shows no area - when armed it does show the correct area and you can see the bell is triggered. See attached. Does this prompt any ideas? This actually seems to be the case for everything...

Texecom Exodus - keypad sounds - bell doesn't

Okay. Thanks. I have never posted on the Texecom forum. Do you suggest I just start a new thread and describe the issues and what we have explored ? Are they friendly to enthusiastic amateurs over there or will I get abused for not being a pro installer.

Texecom Exodus - keypad sounds - bell doesn't

not sure - haven't got a sounder on the panel and they are not close by - I have a spare I can hook up though do you think this is the issue? would it explain bell when armed but no bell when not armed? I did set the area for the output. B - see attached

Texecom Exodus - keypad sounds - bell doesn't

Elite 640 V6.02.02 LS1 All set to area 1B. Screen shots attached if they help. Comms issue solved after "unarmed fire coms" selected for area - so only remaining issue is that external bell does not sound when unarmed and smoke triggers, but they keypad does sound so system knows about it.

Texecom Exodus - keypad sounds - bell doesn't

Okay. So not working right then. Am I correct setting the expander output to the bell as: Area, Bell SAB. Or should I be using ‘Area, Alarm’.

Texecom Exodus - keypad sounds - bell doesn't

Just done some more testing. If the intruder alarm is not set and smokes activate, the keypads sound, the external bell does not. If the intruder alarm is armed and the smokes sound - the keypads sound and the external bell DOES. So do we only expect the external sounder to go off when smoke is...

Texecom Exodus - keypad sounds - bell doesn't

Thanks - I found the discussion. I wonder if I am having a different issue though. The alarm is triggering as the keypads sound an alert it is just the external sound that is connected to the expander that stays silent. I will test without the attributes though.

Texecom Exodus - keypad sounds - bell doesn't

Will check resistance And report back in a bit. Interesting that you have seen this elsewhere. Yes a 640 panel with bell keypad and exodus wired to expander. I will try to add via keypad tomorrow. Hope to solve this as also want to add smokes to two other areas with their own expanders and bells...

Texecom Exodus - keypad sounds - bell doesn't

I have looked and the delay is set to 0. It's not activating any tone from external sounder, though yes, I was expecting a distinct one. I have left it for ages to see if it was a delay but after many minutes of the keypad alarm going off the external sounder stayed silent.
