    Water from a vent pipe

I've been following this topic with interest :D , and although I am a habitual lurker, I wanted to suggest this possibility:- It seems to me there is good chance that when the shower/tap is first turned on, there may be enough back pressure in the mains to force the water up the vent. Once...

    Cutting Glass Tiles

Thanks for the replies, (Nice job Jason :D ). So it seems you treat them as normal ceramics, even though they are solid glass. Cheers, Steve

    Anti Virus Software

AntiVir by Avira is the best of the freebies in terms of low system resources & high detection. It is an AV only, although they are beta testing with a combined firewall at the moment. http://www.freeav.com/ PS to un-install Norton, you need the special tools from their website

    Cutting Glass Tiles

I have to tile a bathroom that will have (hopefully!) a border of 2 mosaic glass tiles, cut from a sheet. Approx 15x15 mm each mosaic, 5mm thick. When they reach the corners, a small amount will be needed to cut from these to fit. Any suggestions on the best way to cut them will be most...

    Painting render/pebbledash

Well, you could always chalk the string line & "Ping" it against the wall. This would give you a fairly straight guide to cut-in up to. Remember that this edge will be most likely observed from a distance, so minor imperfections will not be readily noticeable.

How to fill Hole behind cooker socket in kitchen?

I've found that "lightweight" filler is ideal for these sort of jobs, as you can fill to a deep depth, without slumping. Red Devil is the original, but I've used travis perkins own brand & had no problems with it. Good Luck!

    Grammar

The point is, if it's "me writing", it's about the person. If it's "my writing" then it's about the content. Blimey, didn't anyone do English at school?

    Tiled Plasterboard Removal

Use a wrecking bar to get going on the old wall & just rip it off thereafter. I would suggest that you use a special tile backing board (aquapanel) rather than plasterboard to add longevity to your project.

international non slip floor paint peeling off - Primers?

Possibly the old tiles may have had wax polish on them in the past. Use paint stripper & wire wool to remove this & white spirit to remove traces of the stripper & remaining wax.

    gloss roller

I usually add a small amount of thinners (white spirit) to the roller tray, and wrap the tray & roller in a plastic bag with an elastic band around the handle, making the whole thing fairly air tight. Works for me.

    Transit Rear Light

Hello All, I have an old D reg Transit & need to replace a rear light as someone smashed it for me during the night (Grrr). I got a replacement 1986-200 light, but it's a bit different to the one on my van. Basically, the old one has all the electrical connections built in so that one...
