Replacement for Vaillant Ecotec Plus 937?

Thanks for this - I have checked and we're getting about 12 litres per minute from the mains and, having checked the commissioning record for the current Vaillant boiler, it states 11 litres per minute. So I'm guessing this 20 litre per minute flow rate on the current boiler is meaningless, and...

Replacement for Vaillant Ecotec Plus 937?

Hello all. We have a Vaillant Ecotec Plus 937 combination boiler in our house. It was here when we moved in five years ago and is coming up for ten years old. Since we moved in, we've had it repaired four times for various things, including a dip tube replacement, replacement diverter valve...

Nest Thermostat with Vaillant VRT 392f controller

Ah shoot - sorry! The photo inside the boiler was taken *before* the Nest thermostat was wired in. My bad. The grey and black wires from the Nest are connected to terminals 3 and 4 (in the photo a red loop wire is present, which was removed) - this is the room thermostat connection. The live...

Nest Thermostat with Vaillant VRT 392f controller

Just thought I'd come back and close this thread. Nest thermostat installed just before Christmas and works a treat. Installation into the Ecotec 937 very easy. Thanks for all the help and advice.

Nest Thermostat with Vaillant VRT 392f controller

Yes indeed ... and the Nest would then fulfill that function (i.e. be the room thermostat)?

Nest Thermostat with Vaillant VRT 392f controller

Ah - thank you The Novice. So would I be right to assume that, if no controller is installed into the front panel of the ecotec, the heating circuit is always on (unless turned down on the boiler's own temperature knob)?

Nest Thermostat with Vaillant VRT 392f controller

Hello everyone. We have a Vaillant Ecotec plus 937 combi boiler, combined with a Vaillant VRT 392f RF thermostat controller. We are looking to replace the hard-to-use VRT 392f with Nest third Generation thermostat the next time the boiler is serviced in January. My question is this: once...

Vaillant ecoTEC plus 937 - hot water goes cold when running a bath

Thank you again for your help ianmcd. I thought it would be useful to update here in case others have similar issues in future ... I followed your guidance and checked the taps and showers - no problems with any of these, so I concluded it is a boiler issue. Fortunately (perhaps), I recalled...

    Painting walls different colours

Hi there, We did this in our old house in the main bedroom and the lounge. To be honest - I think it made the rooms feel smaller, even though it did look nice. I think if I was to do it again I would do - say - most walls in an off white and then one wall in a complimentary colour.

Patchy Finish on Newly Emulsioned Wall

Hi guys, Yes indeed. We shall not be using One Coat again in our house. Did have good experiences with it before though in al older house (and clearly on top of previous coats). I'm always happy to learn "by experience" (even if I was cursing the wall earlier this week). It is fortunate...

Patchy Finish on Newly Emulsioned Wall

Hi guys, Well - have done a light sand and repaint and the result is that the wall is greatly improved. However, a combination of running out of emulsion and the fact that some areas are much rougher than others means it is not to my satisfation. So, I intend to do a more comprehensive...

Patchy Finish on Newly Emulsioned Wall

Hi guys - here is a picture of the wall BEFORE I follow your good advice and give it another go tomorrow evening ... Watch this space! Thanks for all your help so far!

Patchy Finish on Newly Emulsioned Wall

Thanks guys - this is all really useful. Yes - it certainly did feel like it was pulling / dragging ... and more so on the offending wall than any of the others (which was, of course, right in the sun ... doh.) I have some left so will repaint - any guidance on thinning? Also, should I...
