Right?! I’m trying to fix mine and thought maybe the OP still needs this solution.

I believe we have the same mortise lock (although I have a broken case face plate and hub lever arm). But that part you are referencing should go on the bottom underneath the deadbolt part. See my attached photos. Hope this helps!
