rain coming in underneath front door frame

Hi When it rains the water is coming in underneath our front door frame. the front door frame butts up level against the concrete below it and so the water is coming in through the gap betwen the frame and the concrete. In the long term we will need to replace the frame and front door but...

Tiling around the bath, not 90 degree big gap, help !?

Hopefully the pics have worked. If not just have a look at the following link (http://www.flickr.com/photos/29562360@N00/?deleted=167552656). The tile at the left is 4.4cm deep, and tile on far right is 3cm deep to take into account change in gap size along width of bath. The tiles were cut at...

Tiling around the bath, not 90 degree big gap, help !?

We had a similar gap at the end of our bath and unfortunately no way of moving bath. The previous owners had used a strip along the end which was pretty horrible. We tiled over it! This might not be so easy because you have small tiles, but we filled the gap with cardboard and then levelled it...

    Removing toilet to tile underneath

I was thinking about avoiding drilling through the tiles for the bolts by cutting the tile so that it covers underneath the toilet apart from a small area where the bolts are. Is this a bad idea? The tiles are ceramic so should i invest in a drill bit rather than attempt what I thought might be...

    Removing toilet to tile underneath

The original floor underneath the toile was laminate. The difference in thickness between the laminate and the tile i will be replacing it with is about 2mm. Will this be a big enough difference to cause a problem or should it be easy enough? Are the outlet pipes a little flexible for this?

best way 2 tile and seal bath

I had to reseal the edge of my bath recently as whoever originally installed it had used one of those strips and mould had grown underneath it. I was a novice at sealing but with a bit of advice it was easier than i thought. I used Unibond bathroom sealant which comes in a spray can. The most...

    Removing toilet to tile underneath

Hi. We have a toilet which I am very happy with which as far as I can tell has a horizontal waste outlet. Now, if I remove the toilet so as to tile underneath it what should I be prepared for? is it as simple as taking the bolts out from the floor and loosening the waste outlet? I read somewhere...

Redidrive - how do they work?

Cheers stric, When you say the screws can ve very slightly longer, how much longer. The ones that came with these are probably going to sit 1cm out of the redidriver even if completely filling the hole. This seems a bit strange to me.

Redidrive - how do they work?

I have some redidrivers. The screws that come with them only go in a few mm. Is this right? When the redidrivers are put in place does this screw go deeper? If so how, when there is no thread inside the redidriver? Do I just force it?

Fixing shelves on plasterboard and solid walls

How do redidrivas work. I had imagined that the screws would sit pretty much inside them but have found that the screws that come with mine only go in a few mm. is this right? To have the screw flush to the plasterboard surface am i supposed to be putting the redidriva in really deep?

Fixing shelves on plasterboard and solid walls

Not sure whether these brackets would be classed as spur-type or not. i have put photos of both shelves on a weblink that everyone should be able to access. http://www.flickr.com/photos/29562360@N00/?saved=1

Fixing shelves on plasterboard and solid walls

I am going to put up shelves on a plasterboard wall and a solid wall. I am not sure what fixings I should use, any advice would be great! The solid wall is going to have IKEA shelves on it and will hold about 15kgs of books. Its brackets are at the very ends of the shelf with one hole for...

I had picked up one of those CED boxes already, sorry RF Lighting. Unfortunately it doesn't fit even though it looks like it should. However, I do have good news. I think I worked out the manufacturere (BG) and all I need to do now is get to a electfrical parts seller to buy it!

    Plastic mounting box

[generally metal boxes are used in solid walls, dryline boxes like the one you are trying to fix in plasterboard partitions.] Ok. I think if no one gets back to me about what type of lug it is by tomorrow night I will give the araldite a go. If that doesn't work then I shall be found tapping...

    Plastic mounting box

A good idea plugwash. I don't think I will find one though as another socket I changed was a metal mounting box, not plastic. Any way here's hoping someone can identify the one in the pics. I will cross my fingers and hope someone can tell me who the ones in the pic are made by, see link...

    Plastic mounting box

I have taken some pics of the lug and box. Both with and without lug attached. If anyone knows where I can get a replacement lug (or even the whole box with lugs that I can use them for this box. I'd rather pay more than take the tiles off!) then please tell me. Any help would be great. Just...
