no real downpour..but done it again !! weather just damp/grey disconnected the MAF as suggested ...this didn't cure the fault as such but car just accelerated as a normal car without turbo would ie. it appeared as if the 'turbo boost' was not present !! reconnected the MAF and fault still...

ok thanks , but being as the seal is attached to the front panel do you leave it attached to it and it comes away with it ?? how is it in relation to the drum ?? do you also need to take the top of the machine off to gain access to panel screws etc ?? thanks again

can someone please explain the easiest procedure for the replacement of the door /drum seal ? Don't want to start 'diving-in'..taking all and sundry apart to find there is an easier way :oops: cheers

I'll try and find somwhere to do it on the cheap , but so far so good with the fault as not occured recenly even after a downpour yesterday ...Like I said , it only seems to occur after a heavy downpour whilst left standing and then clears when warm / dryed out ?? I will monitor and get back...

:D :D :D :D :D :D ( crosses fingers !) new pump fitted , and all seems well ! Drains 100% now and spins much faster hence clothes come out nearly dry :lol: pump cost £4.99 ( £10 inc the postage ) off e-bay ! a brand new Hotpoint pump as well for that , and not a fake rip off one...

UPDATE : Have cleaned the commutator and bedded in brushes ..runs much smoother now :D

cleaned commutator , bedded brushes in and behaving much better now :D

a new pump from e-bay costs about £12 inc postage ! and its easy to get to the filter - its situated in the black hose from the drum to the pump . I know all this as just done mine :) surely one of the local guys on the forum could have a look at it for you - ??? :!:

cheers , I had just changed the brushes due to earlier fault of not draining/spinning but now new brushes in there's a squeal from them which I think may be not seated 100% or dirty commutator ???
