i've taken the cover off of the boiler and i cannot see a temperature gauge. there is a sticky out thing (so technical) that i twist either way and it makes no difference whatsoever to the volcanic temperature of the water! Please help me before i die!

Sorry guys but im young and niave. I have a Worcester 28i boiler, in the winter the water was the perfect temp, however now, now it heats to about a million degrees, this isn't much fun when showering (Meynell shower) Can i turn the temperature of the water down from volcanic? Some help...
